Well, bow season has started. Do you have any strategies that you want to share?

here are mine.

1. Hunting in the low points in bottle necks, and the thick stuff. (make sure of shooting lanes)

2. Watch where you are stepping, watch for scrapes especially this early.

3. Have good scent cover, if u have no cover scent, rub down with a branch off of a pine or cedar tree.

Keep a firm grip on those bottle necks, no use spilling your Beam. When hunting thick cover I prefer big calibers(12 ga is cool) with super high capacity magazines(12 plus rounds) in a rapid fire action(at least a shot a second) used in conjunction with a hearing aid turned up high so you hear'em and drop'em before you see'em

2. Watch where you are stepping, watch for scrapes especially this early.

Also make sure you don't step in a gut pile where a deer was cleaned.

3. Have good scent cover, if u have no cover scent, rub down with a branch off of a pine or cedar tree.

Those broad leaves growing low on pine trees feel better than those prickly cedar limbs.

CORN- ...the deer have a low food supply this year.

Hunt over corn, and you'll see deer.

You are right on the money...I alone have put out over 1,000 pds of corn in the past 6 weeks. My game cam is taking 20-30 shots a day!!! Last year I had only put out about 300 lbs, and my cam was taking about 50 shots a week.

You put out corn one day, and hunt a couple times over it the following couple days, you WILL kill a deer.

Yes Sir. Bank on it, cowboy.

Got my first deer yesterday evening. He was a six point. I shot him with my crossbow around 5:50. He ran about 50 yrds and flopped. He was coming right for the corn.

I also got my game cam out of the woods too. The deer I killed was on there 14 times, and I got a huge 12 point on there too.

see a deer, shoot a deer, clean the deer

The Weatherman- 11-12-2007
Got 2 more deer this weekend. One I got Friday night with my bow, and got another with Saturday morning w/ my 30.06. Both was headed right to the corn. I have tagged out and it's not even December. nearsports/doh.gif

Deer hunting this year was made too easy by the lack of acorn crop.

I had no luck whatsoever this year. I'll give it another try during the Christmas season I guess. Here is the strategy I employed:

1. Go out into woods early morning.

2. Go back to truck to retrieve forgotten items.

3. See buck while loading gun.

4. Watch buck run off as it hears you loading gun.

5. Sit out in woods a while longer.

6. Get cold.

7. Get mad.

8. Go home.
