Hoxie hosted the Ladies from Harrisburg in volleyball action tonight. All Lady Mustang teams were on track tonight and all brought home wins.

Not taking anything from Hoxie’s win, but I did notice one of Harrisburg’s starters on the sideline. Looks as if she’d hurt one of her legs. I wish her a speedy recovery.

The Hoxie Lady Mustangs face off against the Bay Lady Yellowjackets. In Junior High action, the Lady Mustangs took the match by a score of 25-13 & 25-10

In Senior High action, the Lady Yellowjackets put up a courageous fight. I hope everyone from Bay takes this in the right way, because I mean it with all sincerity. I hope Bay’s players and parents stick together during this hard time. No one ever said rebuilding a program would be easy. Hang in there!!!

Hoxie’s Robert W. Hicks Gymnasium was the site for the first ever Goodwin verses Goodwin. Two photographers, the Jonesboro Sun as well as Walnut Ridge’s Times Dispatch were there to cover the Hoxie Mustangs Volleyball Team!!!!! NOT!!!!

It was mother coaching against daughter that brought the extras in attendance tonight. Hoxie’s Lady Mustangs coached by Judy Goodwin faced off against Pocahontas’ Lady Redskins Coached by her daughter Courtney Goodwin. Tonight was mom’s night as the Junior Lady Mustangs win over Pocahontas. It did however take 3 games in order to win the match. Scores were 16-25, 25-16 & 25-16

Hoxie’s Senior Lady Mustangs finished off the evening by bringing home another win for their Coach Goodwin. Scores were 25-9, 25-13 & 25-20

There is no doubt in my mind the Lady Redskins will be formidable opponents for just about anyone in the near future. First year Coach Courtney Goodwin is a graduate of Hoxie and more recently a graduate of Williams Baptist College where she played both Volleyball and Softball. She like her mother will also be coaching softball. I look forward to seeing a lot more of the two Goodwin’s. It makes for some really good ball.

Brookland won the district tournament

It's mother against daughter again this afternoon. Hoxie travels to Pocahontas to play the Lady Redskins. This will be the final game of the regular season.

Hoxie closes out it's regular seaosn with a victory over Pocahontas in four. The first game between the Lady Mustangs and Redskins was anything but pretty for the Green Team. After Coach Judy shared her thoughts about their performance, the Lady Mustangs won the next three.

Pocahontas is growing in both athleticism and general abilities. I have personally never seen such a turn around in such a short period of time. I wish Courtney Goodwin the best of luck as coach of the Lady Redskins. Keep it up ladies...your hard work is showing.

High School sports should be centered around some form of discipline, correct? Could some one from Pocahontas please tell me why some fathers were doing "wall sits" along side their daughters after the game?
