Absolutely! The Greyhounds have fought through a lot of adversity this season to get where they are. They deserve nothing but respect!
And, with Corning playing HA in the other semi, we're guaranteed an all NEAR final!
Well it's final, there will not be a "guaranteed" NEA championship as Corning was downed 10-4. Cornings pitching was pounded from the second inning on. They never changed pitchers and left that poor kid out there to get 6 runs off of him in an early inning(I believe the 3rd). There were moments were you could tell that Corning deserved to be there, but the Jr ace Matt Lincoln was just too much on the mound for HA only allowing 3 or 4 hits. He struck out 7 and only allowed 2 earned runs. HA put several off the wall in outfield and even had one that was a blast over the fence but about 3 ft foul. Matt Lincoln took one deep himself in the 6th that was caught on the warning track dead center right in front of the 390 sign. Corning's 2-4 hitters were the only trouble that HA had when in the field. Each team played a little tense at times as each had 4 errors in the game. Both pitchers went the distance and did a good job. Corning looked to be mounting a comeback in the bottom of the 5th, but 3 runs were all they could get across. Corning seems to have a great young coach that really knows the game, so they should have another shot in the near future.
Marmaduke better get rested up because it looks like they will be in another close one come Saturday at 12:30. They have a great team, should be fun from the opening pitch to the final out.
Congrats to Marmaduke!! HA is tough but we will be rootin for you.

There certainly will be a guaranteed NEAR championship game. Harding Academy is a NEAR team.
Grim, are you going to be able to broadcast it?

I don't figure HA even considers themselves from NEA. But hey, you make the rules, right!
What a stretch. HA never even plays a NEA team until state. Searcy must be special to be considered Central and NE. Why was Rose Bud not considered that when they won State? Hey, but HA will take all the support they can get if you wanna consider them that, then ride it all the way!
Duke has got to find a way to shake the jitters. HA will put the ball in play almost every batter, so if you get the jitters the possibility of errors is much higher against a team like HA. That is where they really just ran away on Corning was the fact that every batter put it in play and it always seemed to be where Corning wasn't.
I believe that the best team I have seen so far had a bad game and got put out in the quarters, but the 2 teams can definitely play so great baseball!
Question: Did they give Regional Tourn. MVP's? If so, who was it out of Dukes regional and who was it out of HA regional?
Our coverage area has been clearly defined since the day NEARsports launched nearly 6 years ago. Hardig Academy has been, and always will be, a NEARsports team. You can examine our coverage area for yourself at
http://nearsports.com/bb.html .
But, leave it to bearbait and carrmaduke to look for something to try and start an argument about.
Grim, dude it's not that big a deal! haha Just chill man. When I think of NEA, I just don't picture Searcy so I wasn't even thinking HA would mean an all NEA final. You are right though. According to the coverage area you definitely have a "guaranteed" NEA final. I apologize for not understanding that HA is in the coverage area. Seriously though, you guys should have been riding that wagon when Rose Bud won it in basketball! They were unbelievable and would have been a good one to take ownership of!
So you gonna be there Big G? Baum is calling ya man!
Big G...on that 2A-5 North...is that the new conference alignment for next year? I know Abundant Life and St. Joe were both in 3A but going down for next year and Conway Christian was becoming apart of AAA but I didn't know where they would be placed. Just gonna check and see if that was stone for next season. If it is I feel for Quitman and WCC.

I never said "all NEA final". I said it would be an all NEAR final. I never use the acronym NEA. It doesn't apply here at all. We cover the entire northeastern quarter of Arkansas, not just the six counties that most people refer to as NEA.
No, unfortunately I will not make it to Fayetteville this year. I am performing in the Loose Caboose Festival in Paragould.
