Girls, I'll say 4A-2 goes 3-1 maybe just maybe 4-0..

Boys, 4A-2 goes 2-2 and again maybe just maybe 3-1..

The 4A-2 teams will have a slight edge simply because they've all played several games this year at Bald Knob.. The Gym does have its slight quirks..

I agree that the 4A-2 girls will probably go 3-1 but their is no way they sweep. In boys I would say it is a split 2-2. However, you never know. Actually on the boys side I would pick: Lonoke for sure other than that the games could go either way.

Well I voted 2-2. But my picks are actually different.

Pocahontas, Lonoke, Gosnell, and Osceola. I think the matchups just look favorable for this to happen. But, as Missco said, it could really go either way on any of these games.

I still say all 4 games will be less than 10 point victory's.

I also say no games will be played on Thursday.

S.S Boys will probally beat Gosnell. Just depends on what Gosnell shows up. I picked the Pirates anyway.

Lonoke 56 Highland 48-Lonoke is very talented but Highland will keep it close
Stuttgart 64 Osceola 61-I think Osceola's hot streak ends here.
Pocahontas 59 Newport 58-Toss up but i think pokey has more heart.
Gosnell 54 Southside 49-Sside will try to slow it down the whole game.

Lonoke 68 Highland 65 - If Preston King has a great game the score flips.

Stuttgart 66 Osceola 60 - The Seminoles cool off in this one.

Pocahontas 67 Newport 66 - Close game with Michael Throesch & Skins delivering.

Batesville SS 70 Gosnell 65 - Discipline beats talent and underachievement.

Let me go back with what I said to the Weatherman. The 4a-3 is generally a weak basketball conference. They are good for competition within, but cant compete with the big boys. In the girls you better pray for Highland.

In the boys, you have to be smokin something to think Pokey was the #1 team in the state. They just played too many close games and not any really strong competition. A number one team should be impressive. Pokey simply found ways to win and it ran out. The Highland boys should have competed better with their athletic team. Highland lost to Lonoke, because of turnovers, free throws, and King was a no show. This could be a sweep for 4a-2. When was the last time a team really came out of the 4a-3 who could compete with 4a-2 and dominated teams?? Good season, but its over, so quit crying about the score, the officials, the fans, the weather or whatever excuses you have for losing. Baseball is next.

Halfman, I agree and disagree with you. Pocahontas should not have been close to #1 in the state. Maybe 10-14.

With that said they can compete with the 4A-2. Newport I would say is the 2nd best team in the Conf. They just had a few get hurt, and ended up falling a little. Highland gave Lonoke all they wanted and more. The next two games will go down to the wire too. Year end and year out the 4A-2 I would say is a little better, but the 4A-3 is far from not being able to compete with them.

Weatherman: I stand corrected. There is a difference between winning and competing, but I think the records speak for themselves and the polls echo those sentiments. I was pushing for Highland, but the floor leadership was lacking at critical times. A #1 and top state ranked team should not lose to a #4 from another conference. I really think top to bottom, 4a-2 is stronger, more athletic, and plays a style that creates problems in the 4-3. Gosnell and Osceola may come closer to competing, but I would not put money on winnin. My two cards have folded, so I will push for the 4-3 girls and my favorite, Highland. Maybe you can tell me the politics of who determines these state rankings?? They obviously need help!

4-0 sweep for 4A-2.

I would just like to say that I was the lone person that predicted the sweep for 2-4A.

Good job. The sweep really surprised me. I wasn't even close.
