| I just did not know who they were or if anyone thought the same as I did, or if they are getting any attention. I apologize for not clarifying, I'm kinda new to this. |
Kyle Day (SS) and Ty Strickel (2B) are who you are referring to. During most games, Fat City had an all-Nettleton infield (Gibson, Day, Strickel, Farris).
Day and Strickel are decent with the glove, and Day can hit a little, but I'm not sure about any college prospects for them, however.

Oh okay, thank you. The names sound familiar now. I may have caught them on a couple of really good days but I was very impressed with their fielding and hitting abilities. I am, however, not qualified to judge college talent
The true talent in NE Arkansas these next couple years will reside in the town of paragould.. with tech having 5 or 6 signees coming through their senior class and paragould having 2.. then the next year i can see zach george going somewhere big and trent wooldridge going to a big D1 college.

No sir, that is not a joke I believe Dexter Jordan is for real. |
Delta is "real", and dexter is no were near the level delta is on....
|
Who is delta?
|
You have to be kidding? Delta Cleary from Jonesboro drafted by the Rockies. I saw him in high school, Legion, and in ju-co. He is the real deal. Some people on this board do not know what the real deal is and what it takes. Baseball does exist outside of our area, and there are alot of real deals outside of our area.
|
In all honesty, there are some players in the area that could go and play legit college ball (not Williams) before they get done....
James Farris - Nettleton......throws in the low 90's Cade Lynch - Valley View........best pitcher in NEA Kameron Walker - JHS..........has a lot of tools Dustin Jones - VV..............great glove man, played on AAA legion this summer Josh Gibson - Nettleton............has some pop, needs to get stronger Kody Pinson - JHS............shoulder surgery will hold him back, but compares to Farris pretty well
A few of the younger players to look out for
Brenden Camp - Nettleton..............only needs some velocity Dexter Jordan - Marmaduke..........haven't seen him, but I hear he can hit and put up some pretty good numbers last season. he'll face better pitching this year, AAA in baseball was pretty weak and he's going to be facing better competition in AA this year. Blaine Carson - JHS............you'll find out about him soon enough. was a stud for jonesboro single A this summer Jacob Love - Riverside.............was jonesboro single A MVP this summer and hit in the .470's for Riverside Richie Tate - Marked Tree..........if he can add some pitches, this kid will be an absolute stud before he's done Mason Knight - Marmaduke.............needs mechanical work, and some control, but a lefty throwing 80-81 isn't bad
|
I have seen all of these players and have the background to evaluate plyaers. I am not going to say anything bad about any of the players but several on that list will not play at a real high level after high school. Just look at VV last year. They were one of the best 4A teams in a long time and they had three college players. Look at the Ricemen last summer all the way to the World Series and several of their seniors could not play in college at a high level. Saddly Farris is moving and will not be here, Lynch and Walker could have sign early but passed to see what else will be there. Love is a very interesting player. Jones was one of the leading hitters for VV and the Ricemen. Another interesting player not on the list is Lindley form VV, he had a good summer and is a good all around athlete.

Snoopy are you dating this delta guy? if he graduated 2 years ago y are you still talking bout him i think were supposed to be talking about high school kids! |
Your a

idiot... what im saying is this is real major leauge baseball talent not dexter jordan or your weak players form rector and marmaduke....and im not dating him im dating your mom
Did the kids from Marmaduke that were mentioned earlier play for Paragould last summer?
What about Connar Kreis From JHS, why is he not being listed in any of these discussions. Temendous bat, dosen't hit a lot of home runs but hits plenty of gaps for extra base hits. I've heard some people talk about his speed, I've seen him run and seems to run pretty well to me. Does an excellent job behind the plate, seems to handle the pitchers really well and his pop time is below 2.0. Will be a 3 year starter behind the plate this year. What is anybody elses thoughts.

There's no need to be bashing people. They are just Marmaduke homers, just like you are a Delta Cleary homer. Truth be known, Delta will go just as far as the previous draft picks from the area have gone and attempted to stick with it (Ragsdale, Belcher, etc.).
And, yes, at least one of the Marmaduke players played for Paragould this summer. Knight was RC Cola's ace, and was the only pitcher in the zone to beat Seams.
And I addressed Conar earlier, I just forgot to put him on the list. He's a good player that works harder than anyone else in the area, by far.

Cade lynch and kameron walker would be the only two that come close to delta on this list and lynch would make jordan look silly and walker is way more athletic than jordan.....so get out of your little marmaduke world and realize that there is way more baseball than marmaduke...... |
How many times have these guys played in Japan or Baum Stadium??? As far as I know that will be none. Jordan played for Team USA in japan a few years back... But he isn't any good.
First of all Lynch played on a team that won the state championship at Baum and did not come in 2nd. He hit a home run there that was the big blow for VV. They have both played on teams that have been to the Legion World Series. Also they have both been invited to play on teams like the so called Team USA, but the only real Team USA for kids that age is the one chosen in Joplin, Missouri that the selection is being moved to North Carolina. They were also chosen by their talent to play in the Perfect Game in Florida that has the best players in the USA. These two young men hae played in many places.
Son, Dexter Jordan is a good player. But he is no Kameron Walker. He is no Cade Lynch.
Lynch played at Baum, hit a bomb, and took home the hardware. Walker and Lynch both starred on the Ricemen's World Series team, with Lynch winning the Regional Tournament Most Valuable Player award.
For you to talk as though you've never even heard of them speaks volumes about your credibility when it comes to baseball in the area. YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW WHO THEY ARE!
From the Jonesboro Sun...
Area players shine in Florida
JUPITER, Fla. — Four area high school baseball players are competing in the 2008 World Wood Bat Association World Championship.
CADE LYNCH of Valley View, Kameron Walker of Jonesboro and James Farris of Nettleton were invited to play for Team Bedlam, a Chicago White Sox scout team from Oklahoma, while Zach George of Greene County Tech is playing for Dulins Dodgers of Tennessee.
The 80-team tournament includes top high school prospects from the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico, and is played in front of hundreds of major league and college scouts.
Lynch gained the victory in Team Bedlam’s 7-2 win over South Troy/Youth Service on Friday, striking out five and allowing just one hit in four innings.
Farris earned the save, allowing four hits and a run while fanning two in three innings of a 7-4 win over the Ontario Blue Jays. Walker had a double, a run batted in, two stolen bases and scored a run in that win.

I'm sure Conar could spell his own name correctly, but nice try though.
As I said before, Conar Kreis is a great player, and I would put him in my Top 5, I just forgot to put him on my initial list. Kreis won the home run derby at the Legion World Series.
I also forgot to mention Jacob Walls from JHS. He moved up from Fat City and contributed to the Ricemen.

Kreis is probably the best catcher in the area this year. He swings from the left side which really helps. He needs to work on his skills behind the plate, but many people do. I disagree a little with the well behind the 2.0 pop time. There is just that many kids below 2.0 in HS.
