In level 5, the order was from last to first, Chiefs, Central Arkansas Cheer, CCU, ACC. just to be asking, according to level 2 USASF rules,
QUOTE

A.  A spotter is required for all extended stunts.
B.  Single based double awesomes/cupies require a separate spotter for each top person.
C.  Single leg stunts may not be held at or pass through an extended position. Clarification 1: Passing through an extended position is illegal.  If it is obvious to the safety judge that the intent of the stunt group is to gain a competitive advantage by passing through an extended position, than it is a violation of this rule.  Taking the top person above the head of the bases would be illegal.
Clarification 2: If the primary bases squat, go to their knees or drop the overall height of the stunt while extending their arms, this skill would be considered extended and therefore illegal, regardless of the back spot’s positioning.
D.  During transitions, at least one base must remain in contact with the top person.
E.  Twisting mounts and transitions are permitted up to 1/2 twist by the top person. Exception: Assisted log rolls are allowed.
F.  Single based split catches are prohibited.
G.  See Level 2 "Pyramids" for further restrictions and/or exceptions.
H.  No free flipping or assisted flipping mounts or transitional stunts allowed.
I.  When catching a transitional stunt that is above prep level, at least three catchers are required.  If the weight of the top person does not remain within the vertical axis of the stunt, three stationary catchers that are not original bases are required.

is a toss extension an illegal stunt? (With one base, and two spots) and would it be appropiate for a judge to comment on the score sheets, "Can you even do toss hands in level 2"
also is it appropiate for a judge to comment on their dislike of double competitors on a score sheet? i was just wondering if it is legal for a judge to do this, or for judges to count against a team for these reasons? Also would it be appropiate for a judge to comment on a score sheet, "great job level 2" on a different level's score sheet.
just wondering?

Thanks for the encouraging words about the competiton! We felt it went great as far as running from beginning to end.

As far as the judging is concerned, there are no "rules" as to what they put on the score sheets and there are no "rules" for how they feel about a routine or how they view any aspect of the team/squads/gyms. That is why cheerleading is subjective and allows for different opinions.

Our policy was to allow the judges to judge completely based on their opinions and how they viewed what was in front of them.

We had six judges and dropped the highest and lowest scores to take the most accurate median score we could to determine the winners.

As far as the written comments, there were a few comments on many score sheets that were out of character for any judge and if there were any offensive or bothersome comments, I apologize.

But, I do know that I have personally have judges tell me to bump down in levels for certain squads. So if someone has a level 3 squad and the judges feel they are better suited to level 2, they can (and will) suggest that.

And in level 2, it is a gray area on whether or not a toss extention is legal. It doesnt say you can and it doesnt say you can't. It does say that there has to be a spotter on extended stunts and there was a question on the spotters positioning. But it was not a factor in the scores.

Thanks for the questions drewpate and i'll be happy to answer any others if you have them!

thanks for your response, and i want people to know that i am not speaking on behalf of my gym as a disclaimer. but would you be surprised to hear that the "great job level 2" comment, was for a level 5 team, that did very well in the competition. again thanks for responding, and otherwise i found the competition to be very well run and a fun event.

Don't remember which judge this was:

"Girls need to go balls to the wall, and guys need to grow some."

I guess honesty is the best policy. Couldn't he or she have stated it nicer, perhaps? We all said, "Wow."
