The Weatherman- 12-17-2007
Everyone has talked about how we needed a new coach "which I agree", how we should of, could of ,.. blah blah blah....it's time to face it, this group of SR's just plain out stink. They have from day one, and they still do. They are the worst group of players the Hogs have had in almost 20 years!
I am ready for a new group of players.

Couldn't agree more. This group just doesn't have "IT".
misplacedbulldog- 12-17-2007
Next year we should start to see a big difference! I can't wait. WPS!
cottonhog- 12-17-2007
IMO, it all has to do with the point. Gary Ervin is HORRIBLE! I'm talking Dontell Jefferson bad. Beverly and Welsch are both shooting guards that have to play the point. Help is on the way.
The Bassmaster- 12-21-2007
You guys/gals ?? all have it right. I agree with every post on this thread. That's hard to do sometimes.
Boston RedHogs- 12-22-2007
I agree. I've said this many times on previous posts. This team is laden with talented underachievers. They are hard headed and never seem to learn from the past.
They also don't learn from what works well. After the last game they talked about how much easier playing a game is when you are properly spaced on the floor and you share the ball with your teammates.
Right now they are down 41-33 at the half to App State. Absolutely no excuse.
I don't blame Pelphrey in the least. The responsibility to play well every minute of every game falls on the players, a team chocked full of seniors who should be leaders/coaches on the court. I'm slightly removed, but I don't even recall seeing our team huddle during a dead ball by themselves to discuss gameplan. THAT is a sign that they just don't get it.
I'm ready to see some teams with Pelphreys recruits that have been selected to play in his system......a style us Hog fans love to watch.
misplacedbulldog- 12-22-2007
Didn't help today that App. st. shot 100% from the ft line and 67% from the field.
rzrbckfan14- 12-22-2007
Our seniors absolutely stink!! We will have to depend on underclassmen to help us out this season, but I do not see us doing anything special in the post-season!
Boston RedHogs- 12-22-2007
UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!
We can't even win on the road in our own state.
I see a mediocre conference season quickly approaching and losses to App State and Providence do not help our case with the NCAA tournament selection committee.
We will all be sitting around the tv on that Sunday in march hoping that our Hogs get an invitation to the Dance. How sad is that??
I'm truly disappointed in this team. I don't care if App State did shoot 67% from the field. The only thing that tells me is that they were getting too many high percentage shots, which is a result of a complete defensive breakdown.
If I were Pelphrey.......I would begin looking to my underclassmen. The cohesiveness of a floor full of underclassmen can't possibly be worse than what we are already seeing with the seniors.
The Weatherman- 01-17-2008
I am so glad I made this topic....I can come back to it all year long. This group of Sr's

period.

No fault of Pelphrey, but I doubt that on Selection Sunday, we will be even hopeing for any invitation, including NIT. Coach K couldn't coach this bunch of Seniors to 500% in the SEC.
No Desire, no leadership, no hustle, no smart playing... ETC
whsfanbyforce- 01-20-2008
This bunch looks like they've never been coached. I can't figure out if they all have ego problems or learning disabilities or both?
McCarroll21- 01-20-2008
This group is Coach Heath's fault. All the bigs and no guards. A certain 6'10" player that has been a waste of a scholarship since he got one ... and somehow kept it for 5 years.
I never thought I'd miss Sean McCurdy, but man... I'd love to have him running the show right now. I like Pel... I like his style and like his intensity. He needs to get this group of seniors out though so he can bring in some fresh blood.
