three more i can think of off the top of my head: lacey weaver-valley view, ashley snow-blytheville, leslie taylor-salem. just like all of the better players in the area, they have the tools, it's just gonna depend on how hard they want to work to improve and make it at the next level. granted, it is extremely hard to get a shot at d1. the difference between making it and not is alot of hard work and dedication.

I talked to who will be my daughters counselor next year at ASU and he said officially NO!!!! He said the Chancellor is making some major changes and some heads are going to roll. Softball is being debated very heavily, but as of now it is not happening.

Man... I was hoping that ASU would get softball. Maybe by the time my daughter gets ready to go to college they will see the light and add softball. nearsports/headbonk.gif

I was reviewing these posts and I want to address "ball in the gaps" comment on coaches going out and finding talent. Pretty much -no-they don't. The truth is for the most part the athlete that wants to take it to the next level contacts them. Some high school coaches will also work on it . The colleges any more have a hand full of exposure camps and tournaments that they attend. So even if you work your butt off,if you don't go to them you can hang up a college career in athletics. The commercial says that there are 350,000 COLLEGE athletes-can you imagine how many high school athletes there are? You have to aggresivley persue a college career.

I would agree with this. I doubt colleges have recruiting budgets for softball to allow for all the talent to be found. The major sports is a different stroy.

any new rumors stirring about ASU getting fastpitch?

and I agree with "mom of 15" ASU wouldn't really have to look for players, ( to begin with) players would contact them for the most part, that is how it works in softball
