WALNUT RIDGE - Former Marmaduke High School standout Josh Bateman will play basketball for Williams Baptist College starting this fall. Bateman has signed his commitment to play for the Eagles, transferring to WBC from Arkansas Tech University.

The 6'0" guard is a 2003 graduate of Marmaduke, where he was an All-State selection his junior and senior seasons. He was red-shirted for one year and played for two seasons at ATU, so he will be a junior this year at Williams.

Bateman is the son of Steve and Melanie Bateman of Marmaduke.

The Eagles are coached by Jeff Rider, and they compete in the American Midwest Conference of the NAIA.

Wonder if Josh is still having problems with his ankles?

By what I've read about him I think he will be a big asset to the Eagles.
