How many wins does it take toget 6th place?
He lost his 2 best players, 1 to grades the other to an ankle injury. But the future of 7A basketball is all tied to a 9th grader at fayetteville. Who ever gets him will be in the drivers seat for the next 3 years in 7A. He lives in Fville, but his mother teaches in Sdale. He can go to either of the 3 high schools he chooses. I was told he could have started on any of the 16 7A teams and been the leading scorer on most of them this year.
Hopefully Coach Taylor will get him!
As long as he has Harbor in the same town, he will be in a battle. Harbor seems to be where all the public school athletes want to go for some reason. They were amazing in their second season in football, and Springdale stunk at that too. So he better pray to the God's of basketball that somebody chooses him over Harbor High.
There are only 16 teams in 7A, so if your team doesn't make it to state you really look terrible! Yea, it was just his first year, but he better at least make it next year cause NW Arkansas doesn't like losing!
Har-Ber. There are no harbors in Springdale.
Sorry, spelling has never been my concern on an informal website. Kinda like texting. You obviously knew what I meant.
Coach Taylor significantly improved on the win total from the previous year. And look for that win total to just keep increasing
That all depends on your definition of "significantly". In 06-07, Springdale's record was something like 4-18 overall and 1-11 in conference play. In 07-08, they won a few more games overall (maybe 8 or 9) but were 1-11 in conference play. I have 3 relatives that teach at Springdale High School and they all say that the opening of Har-Ber (named for Harvey and Bernice Jones)has had a dramatic impact on the athletics at SHS. Seems Har-Ber is the "place to go" these days...ala Valley View in Jonesboro. But Coach Taylor is a winner and given time, he'll turn the Bulldog program around.
Har-Ber ain't NE Arkansas! Talent is much higher, games are much faster, and it is all about who puts the most athletes on the floor. In NE Arkansas it is more about who puts an athlete on the court, or setting up and running an offense and passing the ball till the cover wears off. That 7A NW style is low scoring only when both teams couldn't hit a bull in the rear with a bass fiddle.
This is a new experience for Taylor and it is still to be seen if he can adjust to that style of play.

Taylor coached in other areas of the state before he was at BIC. Not that I am buying your argument. Basketball is basketball. You can either coach it or you can't. He can.
The 7A-West is not as good as the 6A-East or the 5A-East. Taylor will be ok. He is coaching at the school in the 7A-West that has the least talent of any of them. I'll bet you anything you want to bet that he will have them in the top 4 of the 7A-West in two years if he is still there. Anybody that reads my posts will tell you I am not a Taylor follower but he is a great coach.

This statement depends only IF the talent is there. If its not, then no he wont.
He has won everywhere he has been except the 1 or 2 years that he was at Dewitt. I guess that he is just the luckiest coach alive and has had talent for the 25 plus years that he has coached. I realize it takes a little talent to win but you have to admit some guys can do better than other coaches regardless of where they are at.

Alot of coaches take in to account the amount of talent they would be inheriting before taking a job. It could be argued that he has just made smart moves.
and he didnt stay at BIC.........when the talent dried up.
