This was a tragic event for the school and community. Without intervention from the superintendent's son, this could have been a homicide. How sick for anyone to make such an asinine comment.

While I agree that it is a tragic situation, I would tend to think that what was even more tragic is that the school hired such a loony tune to begin with! Don't y'all do background checks??

I'm not from Brookland, nor do I really know many people from there, but I do know that this could have been a terrible tragedy and shouldn't be taken so lightly. I do have family from Westside at the time of the shooting there and it has had a lasting affect on that school. We should all be thankful it wasn't worse than was it was and refrain from making jokes about it.

Well I'm from there, don't know any parties directly involved , do know the water system is horrible to the point of almost matching the incompitance(spell check please) of the school boards ability to hire losers 30 plus years ago and apparently now.

No-one had the ability to see this coming. He went thru the same
hiring process as anyone else does that get hired there. Whether it be for math, english, hall sweeper or yes even band director. The man went nuts.........there
is nothing else to it. Thank goodness that the Super and his son were able to control him til the police arrived. Or we would have already been to their funeral.
