| QUOTE (bearbait @ April 22, 2008 11:26 pm) | I went to watch Ballard, but had to miss out on his full potential because of all the distractions of some clown(yep can't stand to watch him)named Taylor. |
I take it you watched some games from Ballards senior year? Was that the year that BIC went 43-3, won the state title and he (Ballard) was named Mr. Basketball for the state? And you didn't see his full potential? Wow, who has blinders on now... |
bearbait musta been the guy with the dog and white cane I saw at afew games.
I've been to every one of the games in the years that BIC won back to back state championship and id say that Brooks was just as valuable to them as Ballard was. . . and they are both very good players that i would pay money to watch any day.
It is easy to see that the tiny town is still living in the good ol' days!
Ballard may have had a chance to do much better than ASU if he wouldn't have had any distractions.
Online Grims got a little fire in his pants for some BIC topics! That's good. Guess I'll be seeing you in the stands next season over at UCA then? That HUGE school in CENTRAL AR that ya'll don't cover. Look forward to meeting you!

what a shame! it's amazing how much you know about the NW though for it to not be apart of it either.
so should I let Brooks know you are there in Spirit? |
After the way you have disrespected Brooks and his father, my advice would be not to talk to him at all.
Wow, and this coming from someone who exercises free speech.
He will hear from me. He will have to.
Honestly I haven't said anything negative about Coach Taylor. I have said what could be deemed as negative comments about Springdale High maybe, but the worst I've said about the coach is that it is still left to be seen if he can turn that program around.
Truthfully I feel for Brooks coming to UCA. If you read my post on "what is a good coach" you will see that I have described everything that is missing from the program at UCA.
They have a 6'10 post man that took his jersey off and threw it into the face of a coach not once, twice, tthree times, but 6, yes 6 times this season and was back in practice the very next day. He was a first year player. He will be returning next year. Players walked out of practice almost every single day. Toward the end of the season former Hurricane Ryan Williams was detained after a road game for threatening to slit the coaches throat. He was then booted from school and coach later allowed him back in. That is some Latrell Sprewell suspended from the NBA kinda stuff.
Brooks is among the gangsta style team now. He needs all the NEA fans he can get down here to support him.

| Brooks was offered by Albany, the University of Maine, and Cleveland State, that i know of. |
And University of Bufalo and another bigger school but I can't recall which one it was. i think I know but don't want to post it and it be wrong
I heard that Brooks may have injured his knee. Any word on this?
He is walking around campus just fine, and was even jumping up an down at the Sugar Bear volleyball game just the other night.
I will talk to the trainers today and see what the status is and try and report back.
Any word on where Brooks stands in the depth chart? From the box scores it looks like he didn't play in a blowout loss season opener.
I see that Ballard is no longer on ATU's roster. Did he quit again?
Brooks will be starting but will miss first four games because of his transfer
My understanding is that Ballard has decided to attend classes at ASU this year.
According to one of the Assistant Coaches at UCA, Brooks was suspended by the NCAA Clearing House for 18 games for his incident while enrolled at S. Alabama. The appeal that UCA placed with the Clearing House got the penalty down to 5 games. He should start playing either this weekend or next week sometime. After watching a couple of their home games already this year, he is looking at a completely different system then he played for at BIC or S. Alabama. This stuff looks more like street ball here.
Plus he still really really needs to put some size on for this conference. Guards are very strong physically in the Southland. Do not quote me as saying they are good players, just strong physically.
I understand it was four games and that he will play in cancun this weekend

That's correct. Brooks played 21 minutes in UCA's 58-53 win over Citadel. He had 10 points and led the team with 6 rebounds.
