I don't believe accepting a basketball scholarship at an NAIA school is any less valuable than one at a D-1 school unless you have plans of going to the NBA. At both schools you have requirements to get a degree, and to my knowledge a degree from WBC is no less valuable than one from ASU. |
I don't know Chance and am not sure that I have ever seen him play. But I do admire any kid who makes his dream of playing a sport on the collegate level a reality while successfully balancing the academics that go along with it. It doesn't matter if it is a D1 school or a Junior College---the hard work of balancing studying, going to class, practices, traveling, games and trying to have a social life are tough for these kids. To know that you may sit the bench (after working your tail off) in a higher level and choosing to play at a lower level so that you can actually see the merits of your hard training is a smart decision--in my opinion.
He played in a 3 on 3 tournament i was in but didn't put forth enough effort (which was mostly because he didnt have to) for me to see just HOW good he could really be. He had a huge year though and if i'm ASU i'm trying to talk him into going there. Its hard to get size in arkansas anyways. Why not ditch the size for the brain.

But why would Chance want to play for ASU? What is in it for him? Would he actually get playing time or just be a practice dummy? Would he get a scholarship---not have to pay tuition---or would he have to pay and sit the bench? Is saying that you were on a Division 1 team that important? I don't know Chance and don't know what his situation would be at ASU. Is he open to transferring to another school to play ball?
I coudln't tell you but aren't your teammates you have been battling with more important? If i was somones teammate who transfered i'd be p.o.ed.
Chance is done at WBC, he is transferring to ASU and is not playing ball. He is just going to school.
I already heard that, tough luck for WBC.
