after undergoing Tommy John.Figured some of these Cardinals fans would be interested in his progress.
It will be a GREAT pickup at the trade deadline for the Cards, and they won't have to give up anything to get him.
Now, if they can just find a way to stay in the race until then....

Can't argue with that. I'm hoping Mike Gonzalez returns to the Braves bullpen and gives them the same kind of impact you're talking about. Same about Mike Hampton to start the year, though I'm not as optimistic about that.
Getting key guys back from injury is huge, especially if they can come back at the level that they were on previously.

or in Mark Mulder's case, the level they were on a few years ago.

I don't really see him getting it back, and it's a shame. He was one of my favorite guys to watch.
When Oakland had Hudson, Mulder AND Zito all going great at the same time...at one point, he was the best of the three. Now the only one that is doing worth a darn is Hudson.
It's amazing how the move to the NL hurt Zito so much. Well...that and a putrid Giants offense. He is actually now the 3rd best pitcher on his team behind Matt Cain and Lincecum.
