Good job Dynasty nearsports/clap.gif nearsports/clap.gif

How many teams were there

bringit07- 07-14-2008
There were 9 teams. Some current college players, some former college players, alot of great talent, the oldest that I heard was playing was 32, by far the toughest tournament we have seen. It was a great experience for everyone. we had alot of rain Saturday afternoon that delayed the games until Sunday morning. Their crew went to the fields at 4am to prepare the fields for the 9am games, the fields were great, it was an excellent directed tournament with great competition, we're glad we went. For us being a 16U team with several 14 year old players, I am very proud of their performance. I will say that Breeze played very well, it's the best I've seen them play, not just the pitcher they had, but they played very well all around. Like I said, there were several very talented teams. Thanks for your comment.

tell ya what, if ya'll won't bring up that "run down" thing again, we won't ( after this time) bring up the fact that a 14 year old ( who has yet to play in HS ) hit the ball to right field to bring in last two runs off of your pitcher ( who just finished 4 years of college pitching) sad.gif

good luck to you in Southern Nationals !

Wow, what a slam. Your true colors are showing. Tell us how you really feel.

Won't someone explain the run down?

I'll sit back with John and ask him to share his popcorn. wink.gif

Yea, I hope this gets good.

Why can't everyone just get along?!
The rundown probably looked different from what all the parents saw and the players. From their view, it probably seemed as if she was out. But maybe the umpire saw it different? nearsports/0c4fae0e.gif
Same with throwdowns. Parents and players saw that most of them, the runner was out, but only the umpire was close enough to really tell.
Breeze played a GREAT game! Their pitcher was great and their defense was on. They had been scooping up everything Dynasty hit that night until late in the game, Dynasty finally caught on. Same with Breeze. They had struggled to hit, then after Katie Collier's bang to the fence, they scored.
The hits were on time, and made this an intense game.
Both teams played good ball.
Can't we just accept that?!

Sorry got to respond.....Im not upset so much from the tag that was missed, that happens all the time, it was The girl running out of the baseline....Thats more my issue. (tag woulda been nice too)
And it would mean alot for our girls, especailly mine, to beat dynasty. Not to be mean ,but for rivalary purposes. The Breeze had them and they let it slip. They should not have let themselves get into a position to lose. So be ,it it happened, but running out of the basline...come on

p.s. doubleplay,
Dynasty and Breeze have always gotten along...lol and yes i can can accept it but then this forum would be really boring

doubleplay13- 07-16-2008
About the baseline, the girl running said she was just trying to avoid the girl blocking the basepath.
This being true or not, it wasn't the only call that was missed.
For heaven sake, a strike for those umps were in the dirt nearsports/th_41616-4.gif
Didn't expect anything to change in the field.
It was a crucial play, and if she was called out, it would have been a different outcome.
If I were ya'll, I wouldn't consider it a loss.
You guys played great that game.
