I've already told you in previous thread, didn't I? Long, short story and no drama. She just had enough of the negative vibe from the coach. She wasn't the only one.

EPC girls make the state again, how many years in a row, and yet the coach is again being questioned.

Good Luck Bobby Lew
and the girls who stuck with you.

Scott.. the coach is the boss. Whatever the coach says or feels is the law.. The coach makes decisions to direct the team and whether it is positive or negative it is the way it goes... sometimes players and parents have their own agendas and disagree. Anyone who doesn't like the vibes need to quit or xxxx it up..I have never known a successful high school team to be run by democracy or how athletes feel.. Coach Lewellen has done something right to get his teams to the level they are at.

Good luck EPC in state and represent the 3AAA and NEA.

Good Luck EPC.. nearsports/clap.gif

Everyone has their own opinion..But the coach has nothing to do with the girls success..

Without Jordan that team would have been an average highschool basketball team.

Your first statement is laughable and idiotic.

Your second statement is probably true.

Somewhere you lost something in the translation. It has nothing to do with his ability to coach or the game decisions he has made. What he said to my daughter is the reason why she left the team. The other two girls who left at the same time, left for reasons on their own. I understand it to be the same reasons.

I didn't want her to leave the team but, evidently, what he said really upset her. She had a ton of respect for him up to that point. He knows it because I told him. I stayed out of it and let her make her own decision.

Your question that started all of this crap was loaded. You already knew, yet you asked. You could have pm'd me but you had to post it here. Is it your intention to pull my chain?

As for you quoted statement, some of it is true. I'll give it a 6 (10 being the highest). For the most part, it's nearsports/censored.gif kissing bologna.

Scott.. surely your daughter didn't quit a team that has lost six games in two years and has been one of the top teams in the state because the coach said something that offended her... if you daughter was a player she would have sucked it up and played. As a parent you should have demanded her to stick it out for the season.

If my daughter quit a team like EPC I would've given her plenty of negative vibe much worse than any coach would've given her... The others that quit probably couldn't help the team anyways.. good riddens for them.

I didn't know what happened to your daughter, just knew that she wasnt on the bench when the team played.

Yes, I like to pull your chain because of some of your earlier remarks...

I hope that EPC takes home the largest trophy this week, good luck to all of the girls and coach.

You need to realize that "pulling the chain" of a member of my staff is not a very bright move. Tread carefully.

You should be able to post equal opinions or observations... you mean one side can pull somebody's chain because they work for the website, but others can't?

I don't see him "pulling your chain" anywhere. I don't know what discussions y'all have had in the past. I simply need my staff members to be respected. I'm sure you realize that is important to the smooth operation of the site.

While I never was crazy about the idea, as a parent I supported my daughter's decision. Between her 8th and 9th grade year my daughter decided not to continue playing basketball. This happened after a 16 point outing by her at a team camp. Finally, I thought, my daughter had found her rhythm on the court.

She approached me after a game and asked me a question. She asked if I would be upset if she didn't play basketball anymore. I told her I would be upset, but would support any decision she made. Granted this was before the school's season ever began. She told me playing basketball just was no longer fun to her, but a job. She also reassured me she would in turn give the extra time to her volleyball and softball.

That was a few years ago and neither of us have looked back. The extra time devoted to the sports she enjoys has been a huge benefit to her as a player. It has also strengthened our relationship of father and daughter.
