Who is looking good this year for girls SR. High?
What about Philamee moving up for VV? What is the prediction?

Rt. 64- 11-03-2007
Valley View isn't 5A

Don't worry, Blytheville and West Helena will be 4A by the next cycle.

Missco- 11-04-2007
It will be the cycle after next before they'll move down-2012.

I know the numbers Blytheville turned in to the AAA last year would put us in the 4A in the next cycle. I don't know what the year before's numbers were though.

Missco- 11-05-2007
This year's numbers are up from last years enrollment.

Is this about right for returning starters:

Blytheville 3
Batesville 3
Beebe 5
Paragould 3
Wynne 3
GC TECH 2
Nettleton 1
N. Pulaski 3?

Everything looks good. But, Blytheville has 4 it looks like. Hodges, Chew, Sherman, and Tobar all started most games last year along with Carter (the post). All but Carter are back this season.

I figure the long tall white girl (sorry I don't know her name) will take Carter's place. Not much height there, but will be tenacious on defense.

BAV beat JB Westside tonight in a scrimmage game I believe. I got his information from rzrbk.

That's Amelia Williams. And that's who I'm guessing will take Carter's place also. But, I haven't had a chance to talk to Coach Young or any of the players yet.

This week so far:
Pocahontas df. Batesville nearsports/shoot.gif
Valley View df. Paragould blink.gif
Osceola df. Nettleton : nearsports/0c9b9f48.gif
GC TECH df. Rivercrest cool.gif
BB and North Pulaski will not play an NEA team until conference time.
Blytheville schedule is never anywhere to be found, but I think the girls playWM Tuesday night. Melissa and Quita were at the Osceola-Nettleton game.

Monday Blytheville beat Oseola pretty good. And yes, we play West Memphis on Tuesday.

neafbfan- 11-17-2007
Do you recall how the game went and how much damage Tobar did?
With only one starter back, I think our varsity inexperience showed. It may take a little longer to gel. Hopefully by conference time we'll be much better.

Tobar looked really good. She had about 10-12 points, but didn't play after about 4 minutes into the 2nd quarter.

Jalisa Sherman looked good. And Javalen Chew was all over the place.

I was more impressed with the improvement of our big girls though. Both looked comfortable out there. They aren't world-beaters in the post, but they'll hold their own.

And Samara Hodges has improved a lot also. She's a junior guard. And she is really good defensively.

The Lady Chicks should be ok. I think the game Tuesday can tell a lot, win or lose.
