If Beebe,Carlilse and Lonoke were considered NEA, although they play NEA teams in their conferences, all three would be in the top six.

Will update again next weekend. Everyone have a good week. cool.gif

NLR beat Mt. Home by 23. Rector is about 8 spots too high. You seriously think they could beat any of the big schools below them?

They beat Westside already.

Missco- 12-30-2007
Manila is not a top 20 team.

The Weatherman- 12-30-2007
Pocahontas and Valley are both too low.

I sure do, but actually anyone on this list could beat anyone on any night. West Memphis excluded.
Fixed the NLR/MH score. MH radio website had it reversed.

Manila is not a top 20 team.

Brinkley outplayed Manila at the NEA and Brinkley's not that good or half-bad. Manila was fortunate to win. You'll here from Brinkley later. I'd look for them in the Regionals.

I think the 3A3 is EPC, Manila and everyone else. Hoxie and Corning may argue.
As you can see, most of my rankings is what's been done on a neutral court. Manila is in.

Rt. 64- 12-30-2007
Manila is 4th or 5th at best in their own conference nearsports/doh.gif

Missco- 12-30-2007
Brinkley is in a tough conference. They will be lucky to get the 4th seed from the 2AAA.

Pocahontas and Valley are both too low.

Nettleton beat Pocahontas at Pocahontas earlier and then Jonesboro at home on back-to-back nights.
Valley View beat Nettleton at home on several phantom calls, but nevertheless, good teams learn to overcome those situations.
VV and Nettleton both lost close games to Jonesboro and Highland respectively in the first round of the NEA.
Pocahontas got the easy play in win with Rivercrest, but was disposed of by Jonebsoro of course who won it all again.
Westside made it to the finals and they are ahead of both VV and Pocahontas.
The teams in between have tournament finals or top four achievement.
Playing and winning on a neutral court helps more than winnig just at home.
Winning away from the NEA like Nettleton at 7A Conway or Blytheville, Searcy in Arkansas' Best or Jonesboro voer in Searcy (2) works to your advantage.
Nope, Poky-Valley is just right.
Time to get ready to make a run at the state tournament.
Go ahead and make your predictions now.

Manila beat Valley View in the Jennings semis'. Helloooooo!

If you're taking Wynne (though they have imptoved) over Manila, I'm taking the improved Hughes team under Spaletta over Wynne. nearsports/07388820.gif

Why do you Blytheville behind Bald Knob?? Chew,Tobar,Sherman,Hodges would run crazy against Altom and Fulks.

I think the first BUTS poll will look like this:
1 - Blytheville
2 - EPC
3 - Jonesboro
4 - Rector
5 - Westside
6 - Tech
7 - Highland
Votes for Bay,Valley View

Missco- 12-31-2007
Blytheville has more talent but I see them losing some games that they shouldn't. Manila will be lucky to finish 4th in their own conference.

WOW ... This one is tough!!!

I think the first five are correct, but the rest will depend on what week it is....

JHS - is 6, but has losses to Pokey and Nettleton
Nettleton- has loss some close games, but beat JHS and at Pokey
Highland- only has two losses and one to Westside without some of their key players.
Westside- has a Big win over Nettleton but beat Highland without some of their players missing and I don't really know who else they have beat.
Valley View- beat Nettleton and Pokey, loss close game to JHS not sure who else they have played..
BIC, Bay, Rector- can beat anyone on any night but I think they can also get beat by a decent team too.

I think anyone above 5 can beat anyone on any night. This would make a great tournament though...

The Weatherman- 01-02-2008
Pocahontas has already beat Rector. Rector is way too high. They won the N.E.A, but the A-AA girls is weak. Pocahontas, Valley, Westside are all way better than Rector.
