We've booked a cruise to Cozumel over the Christmas break. Y'all tell me what I should do while in port - what's fun, what's not, book the excursion from the cruiseline, do our own thing, whatever. Anyone been to the ruins? I'm really excited, but don't have a clue!
Montezuma's Revenge would put a damper on our fun, huh.
Three reef snorkling tour if you are on a carnival cruise. It is a double decker wooden boat that is pretty cool. The guys feed the fish so you see tons and we had a great time. I don't think I would look at ruins on Conzumel. You can shop a lot in the downtown market and the food is real good. Water is beautiful there, I really like cozumel. It also feels safe unlike some other places I have traveled. THey say not to rent scooters, but next time I go that 's what we will do. Just take pictures of anything you rent from all angles with a digital camera or cell phone and let the renter see you do it. You'll have proof of no damage and they won't give you any trouble.
Thanks for the tips. Everyone I've talked to has said to go snorkeling. Taking photos of rented vehicles sounds like a great idea, and I had wondered about the safety of running around by ourselves. A friend of mine said they rented a jeep and drove around the island by themselves and had a ball.
