WBC women top William Woods

WALNUT RIDGE — Former Hoxie standout Brittney Jones scored 14 points to lead four players in double figures as Williams Baptist College used a balanced attack to topple William Woods 82-62 Thursday in women’s college basketball.
Nomsi Shezi scored 13 points and pulled down seven rebounds for WBC (8-7, 1-2 American Midwest), while Sequita Hightower had 11 points and six boards. Jonesboro’s Sara Lehman chipped in 10 points and six rebounds.
The Lady Eagles led 34-24 at the half.
