Boston RedHogs- 02-06-2008
Today a friend of mine forwarded me a video clip of the 1991 basketball game vs. UNLV in Barnhill.

It was a long time ago, but we watched this game from the seats in Barnhill and although we came out on the losing end of a close game, that was the grea-*test*-('") game I've ever seen. That UNLV team (Johnson, Augmon) is arguably the best NCAA team ever and our Hogs (May-Day) were a running team themselves and matched up very well with those Runnin Rebels.

That game lived up to the HYPE and, to me, was the most uptempo and electrifying college game I have ever seen, not just the best Razorback game I have ever seen.

TAKE SOME TIME AND SHARE WITH THE BOARD WHAT YOU THINK IS THE GREATEST RAZORBACK BASKETBALL GAME OF ALL TIME (BESIDES THE NAT'L CHAMP).

The best game I ever witnessed live was the 95 Kentucky game at Bud Walton. Corliss had 28, Scotty Thurman had 22, Tony Delk had 31 for UK, Thurman hit an elbow jumper with 8 seconds left to give the Hogs the 94-92 win. Reggie Garrett hit a halfcourt shot at the halftime buzzer. Game was on CBS on Super Bowl Sunday.

smile.gif Two games come to mind.............

#1.Charles Ballentine hit a baseline jumper and the Razorbacks beat North Carolina in Pine Bluff...........NC was ranked #1 team in the nation

#2 ...is probably one that everyone ranks pretty high........
U. S. Reed hit the desperation mid-court shot and Arkansas beat Louisville on their home court............
it's real hard to pick one.

Both exciting games......saw both but I don't remember the exact date on either..........

Great games CatMan. nearsports/clap.gif
Michael Jordan played on the N. Carolina team. I rebounded for Charles Balentine at a basketball camp at Fayetteville in the summer of '84, I was in awe of him because of that shot. I was going in to the 7th grade at the time.
Who can ever forget the US Reed shot. That was an NCAA tournament game as well. It was a lead-in to all the Hog games on TV for years after that. I'd say it is the second biggest shot in Hog history, right behind the Scotty Thurman shot in the National Championship game.

I can't imagine it being in the top 50, but that's just me.

Thanks for the high praise, and naming 50 games better than that one should be a simple task.

Dont have a specific game but when Penders was at Texas before we went SEC were good rivalry games.

The Weatherman- 02-07-2008
The 94' game I think it was elite 8 game...against Arizona. It was a great game. Better than the finals game in my book.

That was a great game, who was the good guard for Arizona, left-handed maybe? Was it Stoudamire?

How about that Texas game where Nolan walked off the court...then came back to coach the Hogs in OT to the victory. I think Mayberry had like 35.

The Arizona guard combo was Damon Stoudemire and Khalid Reeves. They were probably the best guard combo in college that year.

I agree with you guys, that was a great game. That was the Final Four matchup I believe.
