THE GOLDEN EAGLES just had a bad day, its was one of those days when shots wouldn't & the ball bounce SS way.

If they had played this way against the 5A-East this season, they wouldn't even have been better than Paragould. It was horrible. Everytime I thought they were at a place that they could begin a comeback, they'd give the ball to SS. They stunk on offense. They let SS score any way they wanted to on defense. They just flat out stunk it up yesterday.

They played like "the title belongs to us, why are we even bothering to play the game". Well, the title belongs to Siloam Springs now for the next year.

I sure thought GCT would win this one.
Not much to add, Grim's post tells the game in a nutshell.

From what I heard from friends that work at the school that's the attitude they had. Didn't see them but heard they had shirts made indicating they had already won and wore them down there prior to the game. I can see getting them made and putting them in your bag for after the game but....

and the school announcements during the whole week were saying that there would be a victory celebration on sunday at 2:30. When all that started in i got worried about them losing the game just bc of over confidence.

I remember with about :45 left in the Blytheville's championship game 2 years ago, all these newspapers started showing up in the crowd that had "Chicks win state championship" or something like that. But, the guy that got them made didn't tell anyone about them until there was about 1:00 left in the game and it looked like we had won. There's a difference between extreme confidence and playing like you have already won.

The best teams are very confident, but still play the games like they are supposed to.

Now, I wasn't at the game, so I can't comment on this GCT team.

They didn't play or act like they had already won the game. They acted like they were just happy to be there. We don't realy need any help from Blytheville now, but thanks any way.

Sorry. Guess I hit a nerve. Blytheville went home after round 1 this year simply because we played like we had already won the game. (And Greenbrier hit a ton of 3's).

Blytheville basketball has so much more history than anything Tech's boys have ever done. Congrats on two title games though.

Congrats to GCT, you've had a great season. We've seen alot of great basketball by alot of teams this year. I'm proud to see such great talent here in Arkansas, from both the guys and the girls. Great job!!!

i wish people would quit hating on gct. yes they played bad but they still came home with a trophy that no one else in the state came home with. they turned out pretty good considering after we beat blytheville at blytheville by 16, someone, we all know who hates on tech the most, said blytheville and wynne were by far the best teams in the east, well we found out who was the best. good job gct on a great season and hopefully we will be back next yr.
