I'm not doing anything at all "on" GCT. I simply assessed the game that I witnessed.

If Wynne had played SS, they would have won by 20.

If the team that played for Tech all year played like they should have they would have won by 20.

No doubt. You can't win a state title game playing your worst game in 3 years. SS was the best team Saturday, but Tech would win the next 9 times they play.

Wynne did play SS...how did that turn out?

If the Wynne team that I saw play at GCT in the last game of the regular season had played Siloam at Hot Springs on Saturday, they would have destroyed them.

Congrats to the Panthers. They played a great post season & earned the right to be called a CHAMPION. There is no shame in losing to a team that is playing lights out. They hit almost every shot they put up.They did all they little things it takes to win a ring. They protected the ball and did a great job on the boards. You do that & shoot like they did, and there was not a team in the 5A that was going to beat them. Keep your heads up Eagles. You had a great season! I know the ring was the goal, but you boys have nothing too be ashamed of. The hating you are hearing is comming from people that does not matter. Take it as a complement!

I am still trying to figure out how writing an accurate assessment of a basketball game can be considered "hating"....

You are absolutely right. I am a hater. I hate it that they lost. I wanted them to win. Why do you think I went? I had no games to cover on Saturday for any newspapers. I stayed in Hot Springs an extra day for the sole purpose of watching GCT win back-to-back state titles. They disappointed me and everyone else by showing up with a cavalier attitude towards the game and they got their butts handed to them because of it.

So, yes, I am a hater. I hate the way they played.

I was there to watch Rose Bud and got there early to see GCT. I was hoping GCT could pull it off too but it was not meant to be. No one is hating anybody. A true fan would admit when his team stunk up the gym. It was still smelling a little rank unitl Rose Bud freshened it up.

No matter how you look at it, to lose all 5 starters off a championship team and come back to the finals the next year.....THAT is impressive.

I do wish the real GCT team showed up. But, it is almost impossible to defend people shooting like that. Blytheville and Wynne feel your pain.

They are definitely heading in the right direction, and are a lot of fun to watch.

The fact is we got beat! I feel The Panthers deserve more credit than the Eagles do blame.
