i thnk wrestling is just an excuse for guys to touch all over each other

Have you ever seen how the basketball players in this area like to hand-check?? Maybe they should wrestle as well.

People who say stuff like that generally have some homophobia. Wrestling is about skill, not about touching each other. It gives kids who may not be good enough to play basketball an opportunity to compete in a sport during the winter months. If some guy is worried about the other guy touching him, then maybe he should just go play golf or tennis.

I read in the paper today that there is going to be a 8 team wrestling tournament tomorrow morning in Brinkley. Is anyone going to go check it out?

Since nobody writes about wrestling, I guess I'll be the only one to give the kids their props. The entire back of today's Sports Section today showed pics and gave results from the wrestling tournament. Bentonville seemed to have a lot of first place, but then again I think the paper on Friday said they have something like 35 kids on their team so go figure. I saw where several kids from the school for the blind placed well in the tournament. That is definately impressive that they could compete so well against kids from the bigger more well known schools who have vision. I guess that is a -*test*-('")ament that wrestling is about skill not just strength and athleticism.

I love wrestling! Not be confused with "wrasslin", which is fake, like you see on TV. We wrestled my sophmore year at Jonesboro intramuraly, and tried to get other schools to field teams, but nobody was interested. Our coach was a All-American National Champion from Iowa. I'll have to tell my grandson about this.

Wrestling is a very popular sport in Tennessee. At least in some parts of the state almost every school has it.

I know I am way late on this topic but glad to here some talk about it. Wrestled in high school in MO. Hoping to see more schools in the area pick it up. Wonderful sport and a great way to get more kids involved in sports.
