Based on the fact that Houston dale's Soph. through Senior group is so weak, I think if the Hogs can go 6-6, Petrino should get National Coach of the year. It is going to depend on just how good the incoming freshmen can step up. Thank goodness Petrino is there, if Douston Hale was still there, the Hogs would struggle to win 4 games.

The whole situation has been stated well, when the upper classmen are making public statements about they are now getting coaching like they have never received.

Houston has pulled another Arkansas 10 years ago. He came to Arkansas to take a team loaded with Danny Ford talent, and used his rah-rah to have winning season right off the bat. Well he has pulled it again. Ole Miss has tons of talent, but they were fed up with the negative style of past coach. So here comes Houston in his cheerleading skirt and , man they love him. Ole Miss will probably win at least 9 this year. The Ole Miss folks will reward him with a 10 year contract extension, then sit back and watch the Rebel program go back downhill.

Right now , all the Ole Miss folks I talk to can't believe "we" let him get away. I just chuckle and reply with, "wait 4 years and you will understand."

As bad as I hate to say it, the Rebels will win in Fayetteville this year, but they better enjoy it. Next year will be good for the Hogs, but look out in 2010. Petrino's system will be fully installed with "his" players, and talk of National Championship will again echo throughout the Ozarks. The only thing that can upset the applecart is if AD Long decides to undo Frank's follies and plays ASU.

I think the Hogs go 4-8.

I think they will win 3 out of 4 non-conference, with TX being the loss and Tulsa being a high scoring close game that could go either way, but since the Hogs have the luxury of playing that con-*test*-('") at home, I'm giving the nod to UofA. I think we will win only 1 conference game over Miss St or Kentucky.

This may be the most stacked SEC ever and our schedule is TOO challenging for this young group to come out with any more than 4 wins, especially as thin as we are on defense.

I'd love to see it happen, but the realist in me will take this season for what it is......a reloading/rebuilding year. Hopefully by 2010 we're making noise on the national scene with ESPN Game Day becoming a yearly fixture on The Hill.
