The similarities between the trio I mentioned on the Senior High team does not or should not imply anything other than a good sense of communication between those players. The same can be said about Courtney, Chasity and Kelsey. They simply communicate well.

Communicate? If you are trying to say they communicate well together on the court then you are wrong. You could have heard a pin drop during the games on Saturday. Except for the opposing teams and the fans. None of the girls were communicating, because if they had been, they would have beat Annie Camp. They lost those two games because no one on the floor was calling the ball, but rather letting it drop right between each other.

Ok Harris...I am wrong and you are right. Please by all means inform us all who the trio that should be mentioned is. Although I have seen the Junior High play EVERY game this season except the Valley View Tournament I am ill informed. By all means…who is the back bone of the Junior High team? 0c4fae0e.gif

Points and assists leaders should be included don't you think? hmmmmmmmmm?

By the way...I have no child in the Junior High and am there fore totally unbiased to anyone. I do hope any reply will follow the same guidelines.

I don't think I have ever heard of any situation that "you could hear a pin drop" when Courtney and Coach Judy are involved.

Also, communication isn't all verbal. These girls have been playing together for a month now, and probably practicing much longer than that. They can communicate without talking to each other.

It was a long ride home for some of the Lady Mustangs.

Hoxie’s Senior High Lady Mustangs were never in the ballgame. Not taking anything at all from the other players from Hoxie, but without Anglin on the floor, it seems the glue that holds the team together just isn’t there. Seniors Rachel Goff, Tabby Weaver and Tiffany Bullard are trying their hardest to make things work on the floor, but with Anglin on the sidelines it just isn’t the same. sad.gif

Juniors Alex Brewer and Megan Black are doing their part as well. The void is being filled by two players. Maloney Cornell and Ashley Ramsey have been called up to help while Hoxie latterly limps through this hard time.

Angin says she is getting better and hopes to be back soon.

Best of Luck Ladies…and get well soon Jess!!!

On a happier note: The Junior Lady Mustangs had reasons to celebrate as they got things back on track. After a disappointing outing at this past weekend’s tournament at Valley View, the young ladies were back in the driver’s seat. One player told me after the game she thought they were in trouble after loosing the first game. Piggott did win the first game by a score of 25-18. Hoxie then answered by winning the next game by four points. Final score was 25-21 Hoxie. The two teams were tied thus throwing the whole thing into a tie breaking match. Hoxie has three unanswered points in the last set and was on a roll. The lead went back and forth several times but Hoxie finally came out on top with a kill from Courtney Jones which ended all hopes by Piggott. Score was 25-17 Hoxie. This was a huge victory by Hoxie and leave Hoxie with only one loss in the conference.

Congratulations Junior Lady Mustangs!!! clap.gif

Welcome back NEAR Sports!!!

A lot has happened since I last posted to this forum. Anglin has been able to come off the bench and her long road to recovery is well underway. Hoxie has now lost to Piggott, Brookland and CRA(hey Grandpa...what's for supper?). The thought of another loss must have been more than Jessica could stand. Myself and others were on the edge of our seats as Anglin would go up for a kill. It wasn’t the usual Anglin finesse, but rather a hesitant and conservative one. Occasionally she would come down and with tears in her eyes only to fight them off with that huge smile we have all grown accustomed to over the years. Her effectiveness on the court may not have shown as it has in the past, but her presents alone was enough to pull the Lady Mustangs past Harrisburg. 25-23, 25-19 and 25-15.

In Junior High action...(Tied with one win each) The previous game at Piggott found the young Lady Mustangs having to go to 25 and not 15. Which is it anyway, 15 or 25? Scores were 25-23 Hoxie, 25-19 Harrisburg. The two teams gave us all plenty of excitement as the game was tied several times. Hoxie was able to hold on for the victory and win by the score of 16-14.

Great Job ladies!!!! clap.gif

ASU Playday
Hoxie is beginning to look like the team we have all grown to expect. Hoxie placed second in their morning pool. The Lady Mustangs then advanced into the semifinals in the Scarlet division before losing to Olive Branch, Mississippi.

Way to fight girls!!!

Way to go GREEN!!! clap.gif

Hoxie hosted the Yellow Jackets from Bay this afternoon. The spirited bunch from Bay came ready to play volleyball. You'd never know the group of young ladies had been in such a mess a few months ago. I don't know the coach's name, but she is doing a fine job under such strenuous circumstances. Great job Yellow Jackets!!!

Hoxie won both the Junior and Senior High matches against Bay. I didn't write down the scores for Junior High, but Senior High scores were 16-14 and 14-14 for the "B" games and 25-15, 25-18 and 25-12 for the Senior High "A" teams.

The Mustangs still have a problem with communicating among their selves. You'd never know this is the same bunch of girls that can't seem to keep their mouth closed in class mdr.gif

Ya gotta talk ladies!!!!

Great job tho' and we are all proud of you! clap.gif

Hoxie travels to Cedar Ridge tomorrow and hosts Walnut Ridge on Thursday.

pixtaker- 09-26-2006
Thanks to my lack of planning, I missed the Hoxie Junior High girls playing Cedar Ridge Timberwolves. headbonk.gif I do know the young ladies in green added another victory to their number. What were the scores, beats me 0c4fae0e.gif

Congratulations girls!!! clap.gif

I did however make it just in time to watch the Hoxie Lady Mustangs play the Senior High Lady Timberwolves. Every player for Hoxie was able to see action in the match played today.

Hoxie won in three straight sets. Scores were 25-2, 25-7 and 25-4.

Great job ladies!!! clap.gif

Cross town rivalry in football, basketball or even checkers I guess. Hoxie and Walnut Ridge faced off at the Robert W. Hicks gymnasium. Teams from the 7th up through the grades were watched by the local faithful. As usual, the young ladies did their part and made us all proud. I think it safe to say that is the case in both towns.

In Junior High action the Lady Mustangs topped Walnut Ridge in two straight sets Scores were 25-11 and 25-14.

The Senior Lady Mustangs also won in the best of five. Scores were 25-12, 26-24, and 25-13. The communication problem with the girls seems to be getting better at the season progresses.

I’d like to also take this opportunity to thank the Mustang Booster Club for supplying hotdogs, hamburgers, chips and drinks to anyone just for the asking. It’s good to see the booster club not only supports boy's sports. clap.gif

Also I say a big thank you to the fans who showed up at the game tonight. And to all those kids in Junior High…yes, those were your mothers with their faces painted green and white. 34bfb6f8.gif Keep it up moms...I think it's a great tradition to start!!!!

Great games girls… clap.gif

Hoxie hosts both Piggott and CRA ths week. These are two very important games. All fans, friends and students need to come out and support your Lady Mustangs!

Go GREEN!! clap.gif

If there is one thing I enjoy, its good wholesome sporting events with no controversy among players and fans.

Hoxie had their hands full all afternoon with the Piggott Mohawks. Hoxie Juniors lost only their second match of the year to the Piggott Juniors. The match went into a third game but the Junior Lady Mustnags couldn't hold on for the win.

Hoxie’s senior High girls also came up short against the powerful Piggott team. Scores were 25-15, 25-9 and 25-19 Piggott. Piggott is by far the most powerful and athletic team Hoxie faces in the 3AAA Conference. Hoxie has now lost 4 matches this season.

Come out and support Hoxie when they face CRA Thursday. CRA will be loud and we need support from our community to support your Lady Mustangs. Get the word out and let’s make some noise!!!

pixtaker- 10-06-2006
Hoxie-v-CRA. Scores were 25-15, 25-18 and 27-25. Yeah, CRA is good, but so are the Mustangs. Now prove it! By the time Hoxie finally decided to play ball it was too late. Hoxie now has 5 losses in the conference and still must face Brookland.

I am very proud of Hoxie Junior Lady Mustangs. They were able to win yet another match by the scores of 25-19 and 25-18. After loosing to CRA in Paragould the young lady Mustangs fought hard for the victory. It is all a matter of pride. Great job girls!!!

pixtaker- 10-09-2006
The Volleyball season is winding down and I missed seeing Hoxie play today. I had to cut rice and missed a game doh.gif

The Lady Mustangs did well without me being there to cheer them on. Hmmmm, are they trying to tell me something? I have to think the shock of me not being there taking pictures must have thrown someone off. 4fcd5118.gif

I don't have any scores, but I heard from a very reliable source (wink, wink) Hoxie Junior and Senior High Girls won over Bay.

We at Hoxie are so proud of our girls!!! clap.gif

I believe this game made it official. Hoxie will have the opportunity to appear in the state playoffs.

Hoxie now faces Brookland at Home tomorrow.

Great job Green!!!

pixtaker- 10-10-2006
Who ever said Hoxie was going to win against Brookland forgot to tell the girls from Brookland. doh.gif I guess a little bit of miscommunication or maybe no communication at all. Hmmmmmmmmmmm?

I find it funny how kids can talk in class almost non stop, yet hardly open their mouth on the court. Let me try this in case you were absent when this was discussed in practice. It goes something like this...MINE!!!!, MY BALL!!!!....I've got it!!!! See, it really isn't that hard. Believe me, it's ok to talk to each other on the court. In other words... Talk! Hoxie fought hard but made some silly mistakes tonight and it cost them the games. sad.gif

Not all is bad tho'...the season is not lost and the sun will still come up tomorrow. Unless it rains! smile.gif Keep working hard ladies. Now is when it really counts!

GO GREEN

Hoxie's Junior Lady Mustangs continue winning and winning, and winning.

GREAT JOB LADIES! clap.gif

pixtaker- 10-12-2006
All Hoxie Volleyball teams are now finished with their conference schedule. Tonight’s game with Ridgefield Christian was a total success for the Mustang Ladies. The Warriors have no varsity team, but the Hoxie “B” teams were able to take the RFC Team in two straight sets.

The Junior High teams were also victorious in conference action. Hoxie’s Junior “B” team took the lady Warriors in two games. Hoxie Junior High team finished it’s regular season with yet another victory. This has been quiet a season for the Junior Mustangs having lost only two matches all season. One to CRA and the other to Piggott. The Ladies now go to the District Tournament to be held in Brookland in fantastic shape.

Hoxie Senior High team now finishes out the year by hosting Pocahontas then traveling to Marion. Both games will offer the ladies a chance to work on their game before going to play in the State Tournament.

Congratulations and best of luck to all the Lady Mustangs!!!!
