Hey Pixtaker
I will be the first to apologize. I did not know I was talking to Johnny Bench. The catcher on a slow pitch team is only where the worst player goes
The twisting of your words is not happening. You said "the powers that be" If that is not the admin and athletic director I don't know what it is.
By the way you did not win a state championship in slow pitch because boys do not play solw pitch
However I will admit that your church leauge team was something to see.
You guys really put it on the Methodist B leauge all stars.

I guess I'll have to get the trophy out of storage...you're making this too easy
Keep trying to make this about me Run With The Mustangs. That is classic Hoxie politics...table the discussion till next month. As long as you deny a problem exists then the problem will never be resolved. Sweeping things under the rug doesn't accomplish anything other leaving it for someone else to fix. I am willing to address the problems instead of denying them.
I simply want Hoxie to have the program it deserves....nothing sinister or demoralizing about that.
Careful Pix, you may be dealing with your coach or one of the admins...

Someone...anyone pull me to the side and reassure me I am just imagining things
Presently there is no sense of urgency. There is nothing or no one in place to attract new players. Simply a nonchalant attitude of if they play they play….and if they don’t then oh well.

we have two, some what experienced, and i mean some what, players that are going to be freshman next year. we have 5 seniors and a jr. leaving. No urgency here in Bay either.
i sure don't like to deal with the coaches tho. I have WAY to much faith in them....lol
Things sure have changed. Hoxie girls softball program for the last few years has been the example of where to set the bar in all standards which include field, practice, talent, and winning tradition. NOT THIS YEAR!! Pix has every right to be upset. Also I assure you folks he's not the only parent upset and complaining about it. I talked to several at the tournament. Pix is simply the one on this forum stating his opinions.
I also believe when things go south that fast you dang well better look to the leaders (Coach, AD, Supt.) as the old saying goes "the buck stops here" I believe its been past at Hoxie this year and they won't step up to the plate, so to speak and do whats needed.
Congratulations go out to Hoxie's Lady Mustangs for swapping wins with Marmaduke's Lady Greyhounds. Hoxie plays home to Brookland tomorrow at 4pm
Earlier in this thread a contributor questioned my loyalty to Hoxie. After thinking long and hard as to how to respond to such, I could only come up with this...
Spring 1966...Hoxie has a brand new gymnasium. Hoxie's 6th grade class was the first graduating class which held their ceremony inside the gym. Were you there? I was
Summer 1971....Hoxie's then High School Principle was tragically killed when driving his son's motorcycle. Were you in attendance at George Prater's funeral? I was.
Christmas Night 1971....Hundreds watched as Hoxie's High School burned to the ground. Were you there to witness this? I was.
Fall 1977....Hoxie girls have their first game of basketball in nearly 20 years. Then the girls had only three player on each end of the floor. One of the players was then Coach Bobby Watson's daughter Judy, who is now a coach at Riverside. Were you there? I was.
1977 Hoxie takes the field in football with some 13 players. The voice of the Mustangs was long time board member Robert Hicks. In one game in paticular, Warren Williams breaks a bone in his hand and is taken to the hospital. To the amazement of those present. #77 Warren Williams returns from the hospital to finish the game. Were you there? I was.
In the teachers lounge could be found ash treys along with cigarette butts. When former teacher Ferris Paxton retired from Hoxie a sign was posted in the telling everyone no teacher at Hoxie smoked and those who chose to to "Keep their butts out" of the teachers lounge.
I remember riding my bicycle down the open halls of Hoxie before they were enclosed. I also remember an open campus, smoking areas for students and smoke filled lobby at basketball games. Were you there? I really doubt it.

First of all...I did not quit Hoxie's team. I was not hired to work with the girls, I simply volunteered my time while I was not working on my farm which I now am. I also, according to some, don't know anything about softball anyway...so there should be no loss. This thread has turned into nothing other than an attempt to discredit me.
This is simply proof some don't want to discuss the problems facing Hoxie's softball program, they simply want to try and silence those who have the courage to say hey...what in the heck is going on.
By the way...What in the heck is going on?
Hoxie takes a loss against visiting Brookland...although the Lady Mustangs did give them a fight. Hoxie 3 Brookland 8
By the way...thank you to Brookland's Head Coach for his kind words to my daughter after the game. She and I deeply appreciated it.
The Hoxie Lady Mustangs should close out their regular season this week by traveling to EPC today, then Corning on Tuesday. With this will come an end to what has been anything but an exciting season. Players and fans alike have grown to expect a lot more for their efforts. Myself along with everyone else concerned hopes the Ladies in Green will return to their regular form in 2009.
pix which player is your daughter
