Either the 40 is a misprint or there are some weak players in that 9 yr. old league in Connecticut. 40 is what we played on in Machine Pitch.
Thats got to be a misprint. Ive seen 7yr olds throwing 40. And banning the kid because they are affraid of hitting kids. Shoot my oldest son would ban for life.
I don't think it is a misprint. I read the story on ESPN.com and it sounds like there are some politics involved (imagine that). I didn't read the full link neabbfan posted but I am sure it is the same story. If you read the full article it talks about some parents being mad because this kid wouldn't play on a certain team or something.
This kind of thing happens everywhere I guess!
Youth sports would be great if you could keep the parents away, because all they want his to play and have fun. I dont mean this bad I know parents want the best for their child, because I want the same for mine but thats when it gets political. You ask any kid, Ive asked my own from time to time what if one day we had to change teams and guess what the response is , Dad what ever you want me to do I just want to play ball.

I agree oh and by the way I think all 4 of your kids need to play for a different team, and I have one specifically in mind.
I read the same news piece. My first words was political too. It has to be. Or this kid is a medium player in a league full of poor players.
My son threw about 35-38 at 9. Many kids in rec leagues srtuggle to get the ball to the plate at 9 years old. Some leagues are still machine pitch at 9. No matter how hard he throws he shouldn't be banned. I think his mother was calm compared to the way i would have acted , had it been my son.

Robo I dont know if yellow and purple are good colors for me, unless you have some green with it. ha ha ha
Pretty much the same thing John Kruk said on ESPN the other night, he was outraged.
Typical league baseball issue.
