We finished a successful season in Pee Wee Football this season in a league that involved Cross County, Wynne, and Earle. We are now trying to increase the competition and amount of participating teams. If your interested in Joining in with us, let's discuss... We are starting early so that we have plenty of time to work out the details.

You should think about joining the nea league with Harrisburg,Marked Tree,Trumann,Newport,Augusta,Hoxie,Mccrory,Piggott,Corning, and EPC.

We have already tried for three years in a row and we can't even get anyone to give us a serious talk about it, apparently they are very selective and Earle doesn't meet their criteria. Cross County was in it last year but they were not allowed to return for whatever reasons and I don't think that Wynne program has tried but we as a group are tired of begging the NEA for entry when it's all about the kids to begin with. I even had the then coach for Truman make a recommendation for our program and all I got was the run around about who was incharge and who I needed to speak with and when the annual meeting was to convene and all to much for trying to get games. We now have our own league with Cross County, Wynne and Earle, plus we are looking for a few more teams that we can round things up with and add competition. We are planning this upcoming season work with a gentleman out of Little Rock that want's to bring four teams out of Little Rock during the preseason, have our conference and few more teams from the NEA area to compete in a Battle of the Border Weekend against teams from Mississippi, as well as he is arranging a Post Season State Playoff that will put teams from NEA against teams from Little Rock and the surrounding areas. I'm trying to see if there are any other programs out there like ours, who don't fit the nearsports/0c4fae0e.gif criteria for the NEA that want to be in an young but established league that is growing and open minded about new ideals... Until this pass season, it's been tough on our programs trying to find games and even now we travel into Memphis and play superior competition just to make a complete schedule.... Whatever the NEA requires for teams to enter is beyond my knowledge and quit frankly I don't even care anymore....

Sorry to ruffle your feathers but apparently you were not talking to the right people.
Wynne did come up and play us this year in Harrisburg.

May I ask who you talked to about joining the league??? If you care to share these names then you can e-mail me at daniel1173@yahoo.com.

I used to coach in the league and have voted on entry of teams into the league...

Here's why CC was booted out...They failed to show up for the jamboree at Trumann and caused numerous delays and last minute re-scheduling. Then they did not show up to play Trumann on Trumann's homecoming. Trumann lost a LOT of money for that day because they almost a 1000 people there, had ordered 100 pizzas and had the grills burning. Their homecoming is BIG event for them. That's why CC got booted.

Wynne...have no idea.

Earle...

I tried valiantly to get Earle and Turrell into the league. When it came down to it, it was about attendance and $$$ generated from playing such teams. I was out voted. They decided that it was not in their best interest to allow Earle and Turrell in.

Thanks Scott for your honesty on this matter and I can say that after years of not knowing what was going on, I now have closure on the matter. If it doesn't make $$$ it don't make cents right, and to know that it was a issue of bringing in revenue to the NEA base on fan participation then I guess that the correct dicision was made because we are a basketball town that can pack out a gym but we have trouble getting fans to follow football and I have no regrets at this moment because we are moving on. Turrell no longer has a program and acceptance into the NEA could have probably benefited their program the most, but our Pee-Wee fan base is increasing yearly and the local church support is really keeping us going financially and morally, we will continue to develope the program and make it fun for the kids.

Hey JB, I know this is an old post, but I just looked at it, I would like to tell you about our PeeWee Football league. We have 8 different cities, Quitman , Heber, Rosebud, Bald Knob, Vilonia, Clinton , Morrilton, and Greenbrier. GB and Vilonia are large enough to field 2 teams in each age division. That gives us a total of 10 teams in each age division 4th, 5th, and 6th grades. We have a very competitive league with trophys for conference winners, and we end our season with a peewee super bowl each year. We call ourselves Central AR. PWFB and have been in existance for 8 or 9 years now. I know that some of our teams are too far for regular season play , but some may be interested in some type of scrimmage or jamboree! Good luck and hope to hear from you soon!
