I went to Kiwanis today. Dyer County's basketball coach was the speaker. He was the most impressive coach I've ever heard in person. He has character, class, and is one of the best motivator's Ive heard. He's been a winner everywhere he's been. He's rebuilt every program he's ever been to.
Dyer County won 3 games each of the last two years. This year they won 30 under him and went to the semi finals of state and lost to the state champion. He plays a fast paced fun style of basketball that is fun to watch. He graduated from Arkansas State, so they are familiar with him. He has a brother who coaches at Nettleton.
Dean Lee....If you read this...get on this guy now! He will be a great college coach very soon!

his assistant coach is a former indian player . . .john beck, who played for him a school in southern missouri. they do have everybody back next year too, they may win it ALL!

Jon Beck was from Scott City wasn't he? Man I remember when he came here his freshman year. Am I getting that old?

i am a loyal ASU alum and keep up with old ASU folks, that's all.

Butternutts-why were you not on the search committee with Broyles? Since you have such an eye for college coaches. Didn't you once say Danny Leasure from WBC would be the next ASU coach???

If the guy is accustomed to winning 20 plus games a year, he would not fit in at ASU.

How does Broyles fit into the ASU coaching search? Leasure was good, but he went to that forsaken area and it ruined him. Nothing kills basketball talent like moving to the Walnut Ridge, Reyno, Corning area. They've had no talent over there since Chad Hovis left.

ALSO you are dead WRONG! We have had SEVERAL talented basketball players in Walnut Ridge during the last few years......
Obviously you have not watched many WR games in recent years. As a team we were short in a couple of positions...both in size and talent...but we HAVE had VERY good individual talent......for a number of years.
Right now we are just needing coaching.....Ray Scott did a good job the year he coached here but we have had trouble since then......AND we have a new coach AGAIN this year!

That comment was meant as a reply to that smart elek Buffballer from Reyno. We always trade jabs here and I just tried to think of a couple of towns close to Reyno to lump in with my comments. I am by no means an expert on the talent level anywhere over there. And I am also challenging Buffballer to a game of HORSE or 21 right here and right now. Hair match!
