Well.. again
Kobe is a great player, probably one of the better ones in the NBA
but to take the chance to further injure his finger to play in the first 20-30 games, thats his doing, but I truly believe that the Lakers could stay within the top half of the West for the duration that "The Great Kobe" (

) was absent from play, he is a good player, but since the Lakers added Pau Gasol, and they have Andrew Bynum returning, if the Lakers could just mesh their front line together they would have the best frontline in the NBA by far.. I mean with Andrew Bynum playing the C
Pau Gasol at PF and Lamar Odom at SF... Bynum may be young, but his game has really evolved that last few years, Gasol.. probably one of the quickest big men to be in the league at the moment, and the "Long armed' Odom.. who has the height and speed to guard a "true" NBA center...
So yes doubleduece I do believe that the Lakers could survive without Kobe... but since he is skipping out on surgery, he will get to have that special "team bonding time" as he would like to say
