Do you think this is a smart move by Bryant?

He says he wants to skip out on it for "team bonding" purposes...
I seen that and i thought "Team, and Kobe... WHOA whats going on here?!?!?"

Hey i like Kobe. I think he tries to bring out the best in a team, but there isnt anybody as good as him so..........

mickerallen100- 09-10-2008
Kobe is a great player... but he could be risking more of an injury without taking the surgery

doubleduece- 09-11-2008
yes i do agree, he could be hurting himself more by not having the surgery. But it is just his pinky right?

mickerallen100- 09-11-2008
Yea... but its his pinky on his shooting hand, and the Laker's athletic director has to tape it to his right hand ring finger... and I just dont see why he doesnt go ahead and take the surgery, The surgery would delay him for 3 months, and If he was to take it, I'm sure with the new addition of Pau Gasol, and Bynum being 100%, the Lakers would be able to hold their own until Kobe was fully recovered nearsports/headbonk.gif

i didnt realize that it was his shooting hand.. that could be a problem. But do you realy think that they are going to be any good without the great kobe

mickerallen100- 09-11-2008
Well.. again
Kobe is a great player, probably one of the better ones in the NBA
but to take the chance to further injure his finger to play in the first 20-30 games, thats his doing, but I truly believe that the Lakers could stay within the top half of the West for the duration that "The Great Kobe" ( nearsports/07388820.gif ) was absent from play, he is a good player, but since the Lakers added Pau Gasol, and they have Andrew Bynum returning, if the Lakers could just mesh their front line together they would have the best frontline in the NBA by far.. I mean with Andrew Bynum playing the C
Pau Gasol at PF and Lamar Odom at SF... Bynum may be young, but his game has really evolved that last few years, Gasol.. probably one of the quickest big men to be in the league at the moment, and the "Long armed' Odom.. who has the height and speed to guard a "true" NBA center...
So yes doubleduece I do believe that the Lakers could survive without Kobe... but since he is skipping out on surgery, he will get to have that special "team bonding time" as he would like to say

doubleduece- 09-11-2008
Ok then .... Kobe should probably have the surgery but he wont so yeah thats it

mickerallen100- 09-11-2008
I know he should... but he isnt.. he said so himself... but the reason i started this was to get people's opinions on if he should or not...

doubleduece- 09-11-2008
well since its on his shooting hand.. i guess he probably should..

mickerallen100- 09-12-2008
But since it is Kobe and he is arogant.. and thinks he must play... he is skipping it... nearsports/headbonk.gif
