I have a question regarding the boundaries in the new CPLL. What are the rules regarding eligibility of players who do not live technically in one of the towns who have signed up to play. Back when Delta LL existed they included Cross County, but there is no longer a LL program in Cross County. Can Cross County kids sign up for a team in CPLL? And if so, would it effect their eligibilty for All-stars in any way? I believe there is a market for kids in Cherry Valley which used to be LL and I think that may be a town that "Delta Baseball" might have been referring to as one of two towns they may acquire at Harrisburg for the 09 season. I would just like to know as an advocate for those kids they might encourage to sign up.
Also, what are the stipulations on individual teams being submitted? Do the players on that team have to all be from the same town or can a team be formed with players from various towns in Poinsett County to play in CPLL? Not trying to bombarde you, but these are some of the questions coming up from people I have been talking to?
Highway 42 is the southern boundary of the Craighead & Poinsett Co Little League. If a lives within the league boundaries they are allowed to participate according to Little League. A league may establish sub-boundaries that will place a player on a specific team as in the case of the NEA. They stipulate that you must play were you go to school. The Craighead & Poinsett Co LL has no such stipulation.
3 things qualifies a player to be selected for the "All-stars": 1 They must be of the correct league age for the team, 2 They must live within the leagues boundaries or have a waiver, 3 They must have participated in 60% of their regular season teams games.
Again, as long as the players live inside the boundaries, no matter what community, they could be on the same team or different teams.
Very helpful response! If we do choose to go back LL, and are considering courting Cherry Valley players we would have to be very careful. There are several kids who live North of 42 but I don't think enough to form an entire team, especially not in each age group. So, if we are depending on numbers from there, we might have to rethink that situation. As it stands, with the roster for 11/12 you have been submitted, there are approximately 2 experienced 11 year old players left in HB to play for City Youth. HB will still have a strong 12 year old group but the 11's will be weak unless we combine the ages. However, 11 and 12 has been divided over the last couple of years at HB, so I don't know what they will do. I guess that's why I have so much concern about this situation because it has directly effected my 11 year old. I wish this had all transpired in a different way. I just want to say thank you to you for speaking with me extensively when I obviously have no decision making ability for my league and you didn't have to give me the time of day. We appreciate you very much.

I am going to say this and many state that this is one of my biggest problems. The rules state that have to live in the leagues boundaries to play. I do not know anyone (including myself) who would turn a kid away from playing in the regular season. The only thing would be that they would be ineligable for the post-season. If you explained that point up front with the parents it should work out.
Exactly. I agree that this could work. I don't believe we should turn anybody away either.
