MAYFIELD, KY - Levi Taylor scored a game-high 32 points to lead the Lyon College Scots to an 89-87 victory over the Mid Continent Cougars Saturday in TranSouth Conference play.

Scots' guard Jonathan Donaldson pitched in 23 points and dished out six assists.

Lyon forward Charles Black added 12 points and a team-high six rebounds.

Lyon improves to 8-6 overall and even its record to 2-2 in league games. Mid Continent falls to 5-10 and 0-3 in TranSouth action.

Overall, Lyon shot 57 percent from the field (27 of 47) and hit on 5 of 11 (45 percent) 3-point attempts. Coach Kevin Jenkins' Scots got the job done from the free-throw line as well, notching an 81 percent night on 30 of 37 shooting.

The Scots led 88-82 with :18 to go, but saw their lead shrink to just one with under :08 left. However, Lyon guard Jeremy Brown helped salt the win away when his free throw with :01 left provided the winning cushion.
