| how come Manilla is losing all it's players? |
from the outside lookin in i think its that these boys cant take a real coach getting in there face or sitting them on the bench but thats just what it looks like..........but im sure that all the people from manilia are going to say that coach hud is a idiot
It could be the issues in Manila are deeper than coaches. Multiple families don't suddenly pick up roots and relocate to other schools just for sports. If this were the case they'd be going in the same direction and not scattering...wouldn't you think?
pix i dont know much about manilia besides every time ive ever played aginst or been there it just seemed like some not all but some of them just had the worst attitudes i have ever seen.........
I'm not one to get on to others for having attitudes because lord knows I show mine more times than not. I don't do it on purpose...it just happens!
Alright.... As most of the people on this thread know I graduated from Manila last year.
First of all I want to make a comment on the players who are leaving. I have respect for them and even though they all 3 know that I hate BIC sports with every fiber in my body, I'll still call them my friends and I will continue to support them. No matter what school they're at. Best of luck to all 3 of you and definitely hit me up with a schedule so I can come watch you guys.
Second I would like to make a comment on the problems at Manila. I just moved to Jonesboro to start my next step in life and there is no part of me that plans on going back to that town. I thank everyone of the people there for supporting me during my time there and I'm glad to have wore a Lion jersey my entire high school career: coaches - especially Coach Hud and Coach Milligan - teachers, and all of the faculty. But even though there are so many great people in that town and involved in that school, there are a hand full that corrupt the minds of their children and their friends. Yes the girl that left to go to Hoxie made some mistakes, but honestly I believe she was pushed away because the other girls have personal problems with her and are jealous (just my opinion).
Next I actually want to agree with pixtaker on something. People let their emotions get the best of them during sporting events. Players, coaches, and fans alike. I'm a very humble person but I would turn into a totally different competitor on the hardwood and the diamond. It's just in your blood.
And last I would like to say to all of the Jeral Hudspeth critics. Yes he does say harsh things to kids. I've had my fair share of confrontations with the man. But when you get out of the heat of the moment and actually think about what he said. HE IS RIGHT!!! Now I'll contradict what I just said. There's a time and place for those things and I believe that he said some things out of line while I was there, but if the kid is mature, strong-minded, and committed to the sport it shouldn't matter what a person says. Deep down I know that every athlete that man has come across knows that he cares about them and would drop whatever he was doing in order to help them out.
I don't get on here much so if any one would like to discuss this with me feel free to email me loren.mccormick@smail.astate.com
Thank you for your time
Just for my own personal satisfaction snoopy where did you go to school?
And trey everything you said is right on man!

I don't know all of the particulars going on at Manila and have no real desire or need to know. We at Hoxie welcome new kids to our area and I personally feel it an honor to be selected as the new home for the Manila student. I hope "they" learn to love the green and white as much as I do.
As far as any coach and the tactics used...who am I to ask? If a player wants to play for that or any coach it is their business and no one else. If they chose not to...again, that is their business and no one else.
As far as TMAC's post...it was one of the best I've read on NEARsports. I also wish him the best in the future.

i want to know why you continue to blast the town of manila so much in this thread and you played against them so i wanted to know where you were from
I hope things turn around in Manila. I'm sure it's hard on the boys who do stay there and will no doubt continue to play hard.
