When I first started NEARsports back in 2002, I created an entire library of avatars that represented old schools that were no longer in existence, or schools that had changed their mascots.

There are still some more out there that were in our coverage area. I'd like to know what they were. Give me whatever info you can. The school, their colors and their mascot. Or maybe your current school used to go by a different mascot? I want to know those too!

Here is our complete library of Old School avatars.

For example...

I know that there used to be schools in Grubbs, Walcott and Beech Grove, but I do not know what their colors or mascots were.

I also know that Rector used to be the Black Cats, but I am not certain what their colors were. I can only assume that they were black & white, but I don't want to assume. I want to know for sure.

If you have info on these four or ANY others we don't have, please speak up!

I believe Rector was black and gold.

I found out you are correct. I also found out that Grubbs was the Blue Jays and they were blue & white.

Lets keep em coming! Give me some I haven't even thought of yet!

I'd love to track those mascots down.

I also picked up some more today.

Bono Cardinals - red & black
Egypt Bulldogs - blue & white
Cash Pirates - red & white
Greene County Pirates - black & gold
Blytheville East Braves - blue & white
Blytheville West Papooses - maroon & white

I also found out the probable colors of Walcott (blue & gold) and Alexander (green & gold).

I am going to gather up as much of this info as I can and then do a whole new batch of Old School avatars after the state tournaments are finished. Please keep the info coming!

Beedeville Wildcats - blue & gold
Kensett Blue Devils - blue & white

Also, before they were consoldated, Biggers and Reyno were separate schools. I'd love to know the colors and mascots for each.

Lyon College was once known as the Arkansas College Panthers. We are going to try and track down an authentic logo for them.

Before it became Palestine-Wheatley, it was the Palestine Red Devils (red and white). I believe it was the Wheatley Pirates and their colors were blue and white.

Another question: What were the schools prior to Sloan-Hendrix? Ravenden? Imboden?

Another question: What were the schools prior to Sloan-Hendrix? Ravenden? Imboden?

Well, I found out that there was once a Ravenden High School and they were absorbed by Sloan-Hendrix, but there has never been an Imboden High School.

So add Ravenden to the list of mascots and colors we are looking for.

Grim- 02-18-2008
Ravenden Springs Ravens
(not to be confused with Ravenden)
Dalton Lions

I don't have the colors for either of these yet.
