Our President has been wrong about SEVERAL things ...(he lost me a couple of years ago...on the border issue)........
BUT ..re sending our troops into Iraq and keeping them there...he was RIGHT ON!

When the libs quit foaming at the mouth and took a hard realistic look at the situation...they know it too! That's why we are still there! They were going to "Bring them home tomorrow"........until they were in the position to do it!

Politicians always have all the answers to everything...most of the time they just don't have the question that'll match up with their idea.

Blame Bush for the gas price, yet vote for politicians who refuse to allow our own natural resources to tapped into because of fear on what it will do to the Alaskan wilderness. Vote for those who ban any off shore drilling as well and then in the same breath complain about the gas prices at the pump.

Moan and groan about the minimum wage being too low, yet you don't have the sense to realize all other wages will be increased to compensate the raised salaries. Give a kid working at McDonalds $10.00 an hour on their first day on the job, you don't realize the McWages for everyone else will go up as well?

Droll at the idea of nationalized medical care, free prescriptions, and housing for everyone and see what happens. The whole idea of a socialized society will come at a huge price. Gone is the middle class of citizens and all the while you sit back with your hand out and become part of the ever growing number of a generation who has became totally dependent on the government.

I guess the whole situation would have been better if Saddam Hussein would have been left in power in Iraq. The Iraqi people and the Middle-East were in much better shape during the 30 plus years of terror. A little closer to home is Cuba and their booming economy and lavish lifestyle the small island country has enjoyed under Castro. Monarchies, especially those who persecute their people, have a proven record of success. You're perfectly right...

Moving on to Bin Laden...where is he anyway? I would say he is hid out somewhere trying to do his work of terrorism and having a hard time being successful since he and his henchmen attacked on 9/11. Or maybe it would be better if we'd never gone after the thug and simply invited him to the White House for a sit down discussion and a photo-op....maybe given him a Nobel price and simply discussed ways to fight global warming. Let's talk or better yet, set up an embargo on the sale of all goods to these Middle-East countries. That'll show um we mean business! I'm sure the governments in the rest of the world will join in at the chorus of Coon-bah-ya. Sit back and do nothing...play nicey nice to terrorists around the world and everything will be a whole lot better. Terrorism will simply go away on it's own. Great idea!

Saddam is dead in Bin Laden's ring of terrorism has been on the run for years. Go right ahead and blame Bush for that.

Saddam Hussein didn't attack us. Bin Laden did. Wasn't the whole point of the war in Afghanistan to (1) Find Bin Laden, and (2) overthrow the Taliban? We haven't exactly accomplished EITHER ONE of those objectives, have we? But yet we rush into a war against someone that didn't attack the United States before we were even close to being finished with Afghanistan. Then the bonehead goes on to spout his "mission accomplished" crap before we get done with both Afghanistan and the Iraq mess...How can you, in your right mind, defend the Bush administration at all?

"I would say he is hid out somewhere trying to do his work of terrorism and having a hard time being successful since he and his henchmen attacked on 9/11."

Wait a minute, isn't it one of the Bush/McCain positions on Iraq that "al-qaida" is attacking our troops? But yet here you are, saying that he's having a "hard time being successful." blink.gif

They were NEVER put in a position to do so. Not enough of them were voted in to overturn a presidential veto.

Resolutions passed in BOTH the House AND Senate.

Bush-backers keep coming back to this issue saying that "they had their chance and did nothing," when the fact of the matter is that the President and whatever is left of his political party in Congress are preventing them from doing so.

First: What Bush said about the golf mess was pretty stupid.

Second: The rest of this thread is pretty pointless.

Third:...Well, there's not a 3rd...sorry.

This country is in trouble. The Republicans are nuts and so are some of the Democrats. I don't know the answer. The Democrats only had to come up with a half way normal candidate to win the oval office. McCain is not healthy enough to live a full-term. I hope he is not elected . Obama is a great speaker but is not the answer. Dang, I want another choice. Bush is such a Moron.

The choices for this election are not what I'd call top notch on either side. I don't know enough about Obama and neither does anyone else. Hillary Clinton is well...Hillary. McCain isn't conservative enough for my taste, so what do you do? As for myself I am left with voting against a candidate and hoping for the best. McCain is a mediocre candidate but he might be able to attract enough Reagan democrats to spell trouble for which ever candidates the democrats put at the top of the ticket.

Either way I am looking o 2012 for the real change

Don't see much need in voting for this one....We lose either way. sad.gif

McCain couldn't win this election if he was 30 years younger and his name was George Washington or Jesus Christ. Bush has destroyed the Republican Party for anyone after him for at least the next 8 years.

Missco- 05-15-2008
I actually do not think McCain, Clinton, or Obama will be the next president.

If McCain wins, I highly doubt his health holds out. Obama will get killed before long if he wins. Clinto has a slim chance to win.

As much as people hate Bush, it should be that way. Yet, neither Democratic candidate has any ability to pull away from McCain. Both Dems have so many problems of their own, that they just might lose this election

Missco- 05-16-2008
I really think that Obama will be the next president. $4.00 gas is going to win the election for the Democrats.
