Tech will have a big advantage in the 1st meeting since CRA will not have played and had limited practices.

Going unbeaten? That is an awefully bold prediction. For all I know Pele and Beckham may play for Tech but if I was a betting man I would take you up on that wager.
|
I did not predict they would go unbeaten, just I would not bet against it. It would be an odd case indeed, don't see it happening. I expect CRA to win one and perhaps tie the other. They will probable split in some fashion with Nettleton and Batesville. They'll have to play at least as good as they have been perhaps slightly better to beat VV and Paragould.

I would assume Tech has somewhere around 600 to 800 students in 10th through 12th grade. CRA has somewhere around 60 to 80. I have no idea if we played you guys in soccer last year or not. I think we beat Paragould but honestly I don't know. I just know we were pretty decent. The laugher is the fact that you guys are 10 times the size of us and don't blow us off the field everytime. Almost everytime we play Paragould or Tech the games are fairly competitive.

CRA plays Paragould and Tech every year, it was a conf game until last year. Pretty sure they beat GCT and Paragould last year, not 100% sure tho.
keyser sozei- 03-07-2008
tied tech then beat them lost to paragould because 5 starters were gone and only had 10 players one of whom was sick

Well, yeah they practice year round. Beckham works with them during the fall and Ronaldo during the winter and then Landon Donovan works with them right before the season starts. We turn down World Cup invitations every year. We even turned down the Olympics in Beijing.
The game may not be close. I am sure you will let me know but I can guarantee you that CRA has never practiced soccer year round. If you practice soccer all year you don't have time to study for the ACT so you can go to college for free.

i'm not saying that tech doesn't have a better chance over cra to have a good team but most of the good players on any soccer team in this area are naturally born atheletes. At tech, if you play basketball or baseball then you can't play soccer. I know that nearly all of the soccer players at cra play one of those two sports so that partly evens out the playing field between the two schools. If tech wasn't so big on basketball and baseball then it would realize that it has a team that plays some sport called soccer which should get a fair amount of attention as well.

That is really funny what you say about Tech realizing that it has a team that plays some sport called soccer.
And yes it is true that most of our soccer players do play baseball or basketball. While there are advantages to that one disadvantage is that instead of focusing on one sport some kids have to practice and play two.

Two years ago GCT had very good athletes play soccer after Basket ball(Josh Turner and Eric Williams) if the GCT coaches have decided now they can't play soccer after BB then they need to get thier heads examined.

i'm almost positive about that. Tech had a different coach two years ago though didn't they?

He's at Paragould now.
Jetton and Livingston played soccer, but expect Livingston will play baseball won't he? Jetton was always good, well... better than good actually.
