What are your thoughts? I have mine...

I came to NEARsports loving it as it was a great way for kids my age to get on and play some good music, to say some funny stuff and give a broadcast to their peers. I loved it and quickly got sucked in.

I knew Huff, Ricky and Hughes real well and that made it even better. When Huff was fired and Ricky quit, I was alright though a little disappointed.

I stayed loyal to Hughes and always listened. Then the station went through the new changes, and now I'm heartbroken th_boohoo.gif .

NEARsports just isn't the same anymore, and I can't listen any longer.

This site is a SPORTS site. Therefore, the radio station is a SPORTS station. I make no appologies for that.

As it should be.

Not sure where you got your info on all this. Huff disappeared, didn't return calls, nor made any attempt to contact us after repeated calls trying to find out what was going on with him. Ricky took some time off and stays in touch, may be back in the future. Games have cut into Hughes time somewhat and he is looking for a paying job so the times he can DJ are limited. And on that note, DJing for NEARsports Radio is on a voluntary basis, there is no pay involved and no such thing as being fired. You either commit to giving your time willingly or you don't.

Our purpose of starting the station was to broadcast sporting events. We fill in with music and news to offer variety, but SPORTS are what we are all about. It's nice to have live DJ's and we enjoy the ones we have. Once basketball winds down we will have more primetime slots available for live DJ's, but we need people who are sincerely committed to filling their slots every shift. Also, Grim sometimes has room for a "color commentator" at the games to help him out. It's a good way to try out DJing for anyone who might be interested. Ask if you are interested, if he hasn't already made other arrangements you might be able to help him out.

Sorry guys, it seemed I didn't get much of my info straight. I apologize for sounding like a hypocrite and just generally being a whiny person who didn't know the half of the situation.
Anyway, I'm listening again.
