the type Nolan would recruit? he basiclly only wants one type, he isn't shy about it

I hate it for all the Naysayers but unfortunately for them, the Rollin Nolan Train has pulled outta the station, and indeed seems to be headed for JTown. Maybe ASU can't be held back by ignorance after all. nearsports/4fcd5118.gif

I think Nolan would have alot of success at A-State. He would be to close to Memphis which is a hotbed of talent. They would fit the mold of the athletic agressive players he uses for his 4o minutes of heck (if that is still his philosophy). Yes he has some baggage from the U of A but he can build up the program.

The Weatherman- 03-05-2008
I still don't believe Nolan will come, and even if he did why would A.S.U want him.

IF, and that is a big IF, he does come and do good for 1, or 2 years . He will just go somewhere else. A.S.U don't have near enough money to keep him, if another school comes calling.

IndianFan- 03-05-2008
First, I don't think he will come because of the almighty dollar. I simply don't know where ASU will be able to get enough money to pay his salary, plus pay his assistants.

Second, and I agree with you Weatheman, if he did come to ASU he wouldn't stay very long. He would be here to build the program up (the only direction it CAN go) and reinstate himself as a coach that can still coach at the upper level of D-1.

He would be here for Nolan and Nolan only!!! He wouldn't be here for the fans, the students or the administration. He would be here for NR. It wouldn't be "What can Nolan Richardson do for ASU?" It would be "What can ASU do for Nolan Richardson!"

If he would come for 2 years and help build that program back up, ASU would take it in a heartbeat.

Hey, you tell em Frenchie. Way to go. I can't stand people who think it is their right to impose their opinions on others as if they are the all Supreme Being.
This best describes the "Nutts" who can't stand the thought of ASU progessing by hiring Nolan. They had rather ASU stay in the ditch Dikey Nutt put us in by hiring anyone other than Nolan. ASU has little to zero chance of success unless they get Nolan due to the fact he is the only coach of his stature and respect that would even THINK of coming to ASU. Who else is gonna come to Jtown and recruit like Nolan could? No one thats who.

As much as I never thought I would say it.. looks like thegame10 might have had a valid point.

I'm probably going to regret asking this. But what did me saying that have anything to do with what thegame10 said?

Hillbilly- 03-06-2008
Read your post, then his next to last one. Not saying it fits, but to a bystander it might look that way. A Grim-like post by a contributor, which sounds like what thegame10 was talking about based on his post only.

French is a moderator and has been for at least two years. I'm confused as to why there is a problem here.
