OK, everyone has had their fun and games, now time to get serious. The best hire for ASU is definetly Rob Evans. He is everything that Nolan is not ( except he probably not is a personal friend of Grim's like Nolan is ). He runs a clean program, no rapist, no drugs & alcohol, no chip on his shoulder, and most of all is a true class act.
He is serious about graduating players. He already is able to recruit this area. He can sell some top quality recruits on building a program. He won't have to settle for the left overs.
He won't bring in a son that tote guns, and most of all, he will never, ever call the fans of ASU "A bunch of redneck SOB's" ( have all of you forgot that?).
He is able to recruit and coach players of all races. If the NCAA considers reducing the number of scholarships again, Coach Evans would never say that would deprive 362 black players from a chance at a education.
Rob Evans could take ASU to areas they have never been. Let's keep our fingers crossed that he will consider and ASU will get past their obsession of "sticking it to Fayetteville". Most of all he will never be any type of embarrassment to ASU.

Good for him. Except that he hasn't been offered the job. Nolan has. If Nolan turns it down, then we can talk about this other guy.
Rob Evans would be a good choice...he!! we know he can recruit Arkansas! (Or at least he did well while at ole missy) What about John Brady? I can't stand him, but I think he is a decent coach.
Evans would be a good hire. The more I think about Nolan the more I think that he would be ok also. I would rather have Evans but would take Nolan. I still think ASU needs to bring in a coach that could build the program like most of the MVC programs.
It will be interesting to see how this plays out for the Wolves.
I also think Evans is a better choice. He is a more with less coach, which is what ASU needs. I'm guessing ASU would have to considerably up their offer though. I'm guessing he's making 300k at UofA.
FWIW, Nolan was on SportsRap today and said he had not been contacted by ASU, he's in El Paso for a funeral.
I imagine that ecans would make more at ASU as the head coach than he does at the U of A as an asst. Rob is a great guy. He doesn't put up with much crap and really knows how to coach. Evans is the perfect fit.

When he called me today he said the same thing. Of course that's what he's going to say....
I heard a certain radio personality at the Blytheville-GCt game talking about how he would love to see Dennis Felton from Georgia as the ASU coach. He has definitely been successful in the SunBelt before and would move ASU up at that level.
good job grim. i'm for nolan, but evans would be a good coach also.
I disagree about Felton. He wouldn't be a good choice. Evans won in the SEC as did Richardson. Felton hasn't been able to win at that level. Yes, he won at WKU but every coach that has been their has had decent sucess. I would rather see Derek Kellogg from Mempphis get the job that Felton.
Don't forget James Dickey former Texas Tech head coach who has N.E. Arkansas ties. He is married to former Wynne Lady Jacket all stater and all American at the U of A Bettye Brookes Fiscus. Bettye still holds several records for the lady razorbacks from the early 80's and was inducted into the arkansas sports hall of fame the same time paul eels was. Just saying we need to rmrmber he is in the mix.
With Nolan as head coach and Todd Day and Corliss Williamson as assistants, that is worth the price of admission there. just the hire would make national news for asu and it wouldnt be negative. nolan probably should have kept his mouth shut as far as calling the fans names because there were just a few that was harassing him and shooting at his livestock.
