| I have even played hockey to add another. |
Where have you played hockey, other than a pick up game? And did you play against people who have played there whole lives, that can skate better than you can walk?
Are you from up north? I think hockey is the most skilled sport on the planet! I just don't understand why more people don't enjoy it! I'am not debating this cheerleading thing,I just seen where you said you played hockey, and wanted to know where?
You know,I've seen over weight people in all sports, but I've never seen a over weight NHL player! They'd never make it! Keith Tkachuk tryed it once, showing up about 15 pounds over weight for training camp, and got suspended!
Sorry to get off topic, just wondering about your hockey playing days!

Technically cheerleadin is nationally considered a sport already and they cheer from September all the way to later march for football, and basketball seasons...heck cheerleaders have harder and more practices then njust us regualr sports do...so tech they are considered a sport
AndTheCowSaysMooo- 08-06-2007
Here we go with the cheerleaders working harder they everyone else again
neafbfan- 08-06-2007
Cheeleaders are athletes. Cheer wars are games. Therefore cheerleading IS a sport. Now back to our regularly scheduled program.

I am pretty sure that the big arguement on this post was that Cheerleaders work harder than every other sport.
Yes the very first post was CoachKP saying he didnt want cheering to be considered a sport but then the whole post blew up about cheerleaders dont work harder than everyone else..

Can we please delete this thread or something? Seriously...I'm sick of reading about it. Everyone has a different opinion...and obviously people think that their argument is right. It's an opinion so obviously there isn't a correct answer. Quit going back and forth time and time again with the same fight. Let's discuss something productive, like maybe a competition coming up, a squad that is doing a great job, or the large amount of skills that exist in cheerleading. Just a suggestion that will actually draw me back to this site...because I seem to be shying away from it.

I agree... cheerleading takes time, and dedication, and if you don't have that, then you have nothing.
thegunshow- 12-07-2007
It is a sport. Have you seen some the pro cheer leaders, they are in better shape than alot of the athletes they cheer for. Especially the male cheerleaders.

If the con-*test*-('")ants compete against each other in an athletic capacity, then it qualifies as a sport. Just because you don't want it to be doesn't make it not a sport. The "cheer haters" on this forum need to get over themselves.

HA! thats coming from the man himself!

I thought this topic kinda faded away a few months ago.
And who ya calling the man?

| When they are talking about cheer they are not talking about during ball games. They are talking about their competition. |
I think cheerleaders should have to cheer at all games, especially tournament finals. For instance, Poky had no cheerleaders at the WBC finals. Boys and girls both and only 15 min away. I was told they only cheer at home games and against Highland. But if a team goes to the state tourny, they're the first to book the rooms. You cant tell me there isn't 6-8 other girls who would love to cheer at the ballgames. If its a competition, it should be sanctioned by the AAA.

Im sure most of the girls wouldnt mind cheering at more games than they do. It is up to the cheer coaches to deside what games they go to.
