NEARsports Radio will be off the air temporarily for a few hours this afternoon and evening while we institute the changes detailed below.

QUOTE
We will be making the split this weekend, perhaps even as early as tonight.

NEARsports Radio 1 will still be 24/7 sports, simulcasting Sporting News Radio KDRS-AM 1490 most of the time except when we are broadcasting our own programming such as ball games, call-in shows, etc.

NEARsports Radio 2 will be a music station. There will occasionally be DJ's, and when we have some lined up we will post a schedule. The game broadcasts will air on both stations simultaniously. Any rebroadcasts will air on NSR2. At some point, we may air different games on the two stations.

The radio home page will be changed accordingly very soon.

Thanks for your continued support!

Grim has NSR1 and NSR2 up and running on the new formats!

I'll be ready to start DJing again real soon!

We are experiencing some growing pains this morning. We have the sports programming on NSR2 for the next hour or so while we work them out.

We are in the middle of a massive system overhaul on the NSR2 computer. It is progressing slowly. As soon as it is complete, NSR2 will be back on music again. Thanks for you patience.

Well, the music is rolling for the time being on NSR2. I have it coming from the remote unit. The old backup computer that we were using for NSR2 has had it. We will try and buy a good used unit tomorrow. When we do, the music will be gone for a little while again, but when it comes back it will be coming from its permanent home.

We are now actively looking for DJ's for NSR2. Must be reliable. Please keep in mind that if you have a night time program, it could be pre-empted for football or basketball games. In fact, we won't even schedule any DJ's for Friday nights at all.

But, in the meantime, tune in NSR1 for Sporting News Radio, or NSR2 for great music!

The split has been official since Sunday. Some really nice music playing on NSR2 the last couple of days. I highly reccomend it!

We have already been contacted by two potential DJ's, one of which, Ricky, DJed the first time around. Rebel39 is going to be working and won't be able to DJ.

We are going to begin adding these DJ's after we get through this very busy week of football coming up.

I have listened to the music side a few times since you made the split. I like the broad range of music.
