And with that logic Satan himself could run for office and you would vote for him if he was a democrat.Blind loyalty to a political party is asinine on both sides.Vote for THE CANDIDATE that is best for the country in your view and supports your beliefs.

Voting strictly party line is the sign of a uneducated voter. You might say I only vote for one party...but ask yourself why. People cheat themselves when they allow candidates to steal their vote due strictly to a single party affiliation.

While I have no desire to run for state wide office, I have held elected office on the local level and have plans to run for other offices in the future. I have been asked to join the republican party on more than one occasion. How could I allow a party's platform to dictate my views? I couldn't then and I still remain uncommitted to any party.

I know it might be a stretch for some...but try thinking before you just waste your time voting. Educate yourself...it's your duty.

Hilarious! You don't take things to the extreme do you nearsports/07388820.gif

So, if the candidates that closely fit my beliefs are all democrat, then its wrong and stupid. Isn't that what you really want to say Yaz?

Tell me Yaz, how many times have you voted Democrat. I bet you line those R's up in a heartbeat.

I am a registered Democrat. However, you take it to the bank that this ole gal will not be voting for Obama. I don't think that he has this country's best interests at heart. I feel like he's only out for himself.

Change is the word of the day these days.

But change what? Change why? Change how? Change for the sake of change is meaningless and even destructive. The communists made change for change's sake a political philosphy and see where that got them. Change on its own is an empty word and that's just why these folks use it: They want you to fill this empty vessel of a word with whatever you have in mind.

I'd rather vote for someone than for change.

Jeff Jarvis BuzzMachine 2004

And its as true today as it was then..

It's not just a word. Obama has an entire plan, and outlines every issue in his Blueprint for Change.

Blueprint for Change

Go ahead and look through it. Whether you agree or disagree with him or his plans, you won't be able to say that he doesn't have one.

He's not using the word as an empty vessel.

In which way.

Please elaborate...

BLUE33- 09-19-2008
Plans are of little importance, but planning is essential -- Winston Churchill
Plans are nothing; planning is everything.-- Dwight D. Eisenhower
Plans keep the troops calm until the battle starts.-- BLUE33

What he has at this point are ideas, they don't become plans until he is elected..
As far as using the word change as an empty vessel, read the top statement in your referenced site..

"I'm asking you to believe. Not just in my ability to bring real change in Washington... I'm asking you to believe in yours."
When you use the word change in general everyone has their own idea of what that represents.. If he is elected he will have brought change to Washington simply by being elected..

By the way, why did you jump to the conclusion or assume that I was refering to Obama when I said something about change?? Or did you use your super Mod powers to see how I voted in the poll?? All canidates talk of change when our society is headed in a bad direction..

While you're getting in touch with how you "feel" about a candidate, how do you "feel" about this little known notion.

Sarah Palin suported her husband while he was a card carrying member of the Alaska Independent Party that wants to secede from the United States.

If she loves her country sooooooooo much, why would she support her husband becoming a member to a group that wants to leave the USofA and go back to, I don't know-Russia?

Country first! Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuure.

More like MPG - Money, Power, Greed. And let's not even mention sex because we know where that's headed.
