The 'present' vote sounds like something that should be employed more often. Obama has explained it as he was in some instances in favor of a bill but he found something objectionable in it. We see the spin in almost every election on voting records, they will say a canidate voted yes to raising taxes so many times . Many times these votes are part of a bigger bill that they have to pass for other reasons. Maybe Obama wanted the strip clubs more than a 1000 feet from schools or did not want penalties for 1st offenses to be lessened.

Sounds like he found a way to stand by his beliefs without comprimising. Will never work in Washington unfortunatly. He would be the most ineffective pres since Carter.

it basically means he has no convictions that he wants us to know about anyway. he'll show them to us if he gets elected which i feel he probably will. i used to have a lot of faith in the youth of our country but i am starting to worry. obama hasn't said 1 thing about what he plans to do and just give MLK and JFK speeches and they just swoon over him. unbelievable. be careful what you ask for because you just might get what you deserve.

While I have issues with some of his policies, What Ron Paul 'says' he would do is closest to what I would do. Pity he's not a viable candidate, he will be grouped with my other should have beens Gore(when he ran and failed to get the nomination way back there against Dukakas maybe), and Perot. Ragan was my last president of choice.
