Since Coach Larry Treadway came to WR things have gotten alot better here!! He has started a off-season program at WRHS that some folks said the kids wouldn't be interested in. HA HA man were they wrong. Attendance is hovering at 90 to 100 kids per day. Treadway and other WRHS coaches are keeping gym open Monday thru Thursday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. to accommodate all students grades 7-12.

Structured fitness programs that are supervised by coaches in running, jumping rope, stretching, weightlifting , agility and plyometics drills. After work-out kids are allowed to use court to play basketball, volleyball, etc... just for fun. This gives the kids some structure in their lives they don't always have at home with a lot of families having both parents working full time.

At end of summer the kids who complete program will receive a T shirt and become a member of the 20\20 Club. Also weightlifting members can become members of 500lb to 1500lb Clubs. Did I mention both girls and boys are attending daily clap.gif clap.gif

My hats off to Coach Treadway and Staff. If you build it they will come!!!

I too would like to salute the coaches for doing this. This keeps kids off the street and off drugs and alchohol. I wish all schools would do something like this to give student-atheletes the opportunity to better their games over summer break instead of sitting on a couch or getting into worse trouble. I mean I know they offer summer school, but who wants to do that? Other coaches should take notice and try a program like this.
