Anyone know scores and how teams did this weekend
Jonesboro Jv defeated GCT 2-0
Westside defeated Paragould on pks after a 0-0 game, 2-0 on pks
Jonesboro defeated Kennett 3-0
Nettleton defeated Westside on pks after a 1-1 game, went to 6 kickers 5-4 in pks.
Gct defeated Kennett 2-0
Paragould defeated Nettleton on pks after a 0-0 game, 3-1 on pks
The 5th/6th place game was Westside and Kennett, went to pks, I think Westside won.
GCT defeated Nettleton 2-0(maybe) in the 3rd/4th place game.
Paragould played Jonesboro in the championship game which was 0-0 at the half.
Those were the games, sorry I don't know the other scores.
Interesting note: Westside's keeper scored on her pk attempts in each of the 3 games.

That tourny was rigged. There was no coin toss involved when there was a bunch of ties because of th 1-1 ties with a few of the teams.. it was just "randomly picked" ha ok.
Paragould hosted the thing and somehow they played in the finals with a 1-1 record the same as Westside, Nettleton, and GCT.
Somehow it was determined that GCT would play in the 3rd/4th place game even before Paragould played Nettleton, which lends credibility to there being 2 separate pools or sides to the bracket. But the logic used to determine the placing among Westside, Nettleton, and Paragould is bogus, pick another start point and the same line of reasoning could result in either other team playing for the championship.
I have a question. How can a game be decided on PKs from 6 kickers. Shouldn't it be in sets of 5? Keep going until one team has more than the other after 5 kicks?
HS rules are a little different than FIFA, there are 10 kickers instead of 11, it's best of five, then goes to 1 for 1, so if its tied after 5 kickers each team gets one more kick and it becomes best of 6, then best of 7 and so forth.
That tiebreaker procedure was black and white unlike the gray bracket issue.
Thanks. Looking back at the scores, GCT should have had point differential advantage. It probably wasn't one of the criteria though since they lost by 2 to JB jv.
well according to brackets & pools westside and nettleton should have had jus enough a chance to go to finals because the whole point in pools in the WINNER from each pool goes to the finals not 2 teams from one pool go to the finals...therefore GCT was ruled out simply because JHS beat both of the teams in their pool but like you said a three way tie should at least have a coin flip or something especially considering the games could have been re-ordered differently and would place Nettleton or Westside on top..so yeah it was pretty much riggedfor paragould to go to the finals bc they got lucky and tied the other 2 teams in their pool. Plus the following monday paragould was defeated by westside kinda proving westside deserved to play in the finals jus as much as them.
Water under the bridge, potential teams just need to get the rules straight with Paragould before participating next year.
